A good review of this visionary writing by USAF officer Lt. Col. Charles Dunlap
Jr. If we recall correctly years ago, Mr. Dunlap is a US military judge and
wrote this paper while studying at the National War College. The document is
becoming prophetic and true toward 2012. Pay attention to the references he
includes at the end of the paper. The review and the document can still be
downloaded at (while it lasts):

In the Mayapan observatory, near Merida, there is evidence that ancient Mayas
observed and measured several transits of Venus as astronomical events
describing the path of this planet in front of the Sun.
The report was presented by Science professor of the Universidad Nacional
Autonoma de Mexico, Christine Allen Armiño, in the Astronomy Congress as a
research paper, 'Transits of Venus: From Mayas to the Astronomical Unit", as
part of the International Year of Astronomy.
She explained, 'The Mayapan observatory is a small copy of Chichen Itza with
more than 4,000 structures along four kilometers. In the Observatory room, the
study found a solar disk with a reclined observing astronomer, and inscriptions
dated 1200-1350 BC. During this interval, Maya astronomers registered four
transits of Venus and two solar eclipses represented by circles in the disk.
The next transit of Venus, considered ominous, will be June 6, 2012 and the next
pair of Venus transits will occur in 2117.

If you're a fan of Harlequin novels (they are unexpensive, sexy, easy to read
and great entertainment), Jessica Andersen, author of the Novel of the Final
Prophecies, has written a book with lots of plot twists, hot characters and
emotional angst. Here some details of the book:
"Ancient prophecy holds that 12/21/2012 will bring a global cataclysm. Mankind's
only hope lies with the Nightkeepers, modern magic-wielding warriors who must
find their destined mates and fulfill the legends to defeat the rise of terrible
Mayan demons in the last few years leading up to 2012.
In SKYKEEPERS, Michael Stone is a man with a dark secret that has skewed his
magical abilities dangerously toward the underworld. Seeking redemption, he sets
out on a perilous mission to save the daughter of Ambrose Ledbetter, a renowned
Mayanist who died before he could reveal the location of a hidden library. The
Nightkeepers must find the library before their enemies gain access to its
valuable cache of spells and prophecies.
Sasha Ledbetter grew up hearing heroic tales of an ancient group of powerful
magi who were destined to save the world from destruction. She never expected
that her bedtime stories would come to life in the form of Nightkeeper Michael
Stone, or that she'd hold the key to the warrior's survival. As Sasha and
Michael join forces to prevent the imminent battle, sparks of attraction ignite
between them, and they're forced to confront the unexpected passion that brings
them together … and also tears them apart."

One of the most interesting aspects in the life of Lord Pakal Ahau happened
during the death of Mr. Orson Welles in 1985. Although Welles can often seem
like a prophet of the postmodern, few today are able to work on these dual
levels in the way he did. Read this true story.

We just discovered this website treasure. It is the graphic novel Ah Pook Is
Here (1978), named after the Mayan god of death Ah Puch. The book is a
collaboration of writer William S. Burroughs and pop art artist Malcolm Mc
Neill. The website include the illustrations.
Ah Pook Is Here was prescient both with respect to its form and its content. In
light of the current End of Days hysteria, the War on Terror, and the end of the
Mayan Long Count in 2012, it is now relevant.
This book should be made as the real 2012 movie with psychological tones, worth
of an Oscar nomination. Where is Quentin Tarantino? Enjoy the website!

The book is called `The 2012 Story – The Myths, Fallacies and Truth Behind the
Most Intriguing Date in History' (2009).
From the groundbreaking researcher John Major Jenkins, who has guided the 2012
discussion for over two decades, now comes an epic exploration of the authentic
origins and meaning of this portentious date. Surveying the roots of 2012 in
Maya astronomy, prophecy, and metaphysical philosophy, The 2012 Story explores
how this date has become a subject of mass fascination today — for popular
writers, in the mass media, Hollywood, and among the Maya themselves.
In The 2012 Story discover:
* How the early Maya devised the calendar that gives us the cycle ending in
2012 and how it works.
* How the ancient calendar was rediscovered in modern times.
* How the 2012 idea has been interpreted—and misinterpreted—by professional
scholars, spiritual impresarios, and popular culture.
* What key controversies and enigmas surround the concept.
* How we can cut through all the noise about 2012 and gain true wisdom from
Maya teachings about our present moment in history.

Our blog got jammed with visits after mainstream news reported last week the
2012 Prophecy on Monument 6 at Tortuguero, near Palenque. Interestingly, this
prophecy was known to us and other Mayanists many years ago and it is now that
people are looking for its explanation, presumably with the near release of the
2012 apocalyptic movie. Here is some good research summaries we published in our
blog with the most recent translation from our Director Lord Pakal Ahau.
