On my way back from some errands this morning, I looked at my odometer which
read

2 47058.

I then glanced at the truck I was approaching on the right and its license plate
number was

    58N47.

Got back home and there was a furniture truck parked in my next door neighbor's
driveway with

47-CHASE

as the phone number painted on the side.

The day is just beginning too ;)   I'm more surprised now when I don't see stuff
like this.

Just reserved a bird for the upcoming holiday, and I got this:

An article appeared in the Newcastle Herald (Australia) today titled "Driver had
Downed 47 Beers"

extracts from the article.....

I digged a little and found Fallon's shows are on Hulu.    It appears that the
band yells the current episode during the opening theme .   Here is a list of
the last three episodes.

What is also interesting is that if you look at the earlier episodes the air
time is 41:46 for most of them and none are 41:47 except for the ones shown

I've been seeing LOTS of 47's lately - in many different things.   One even
showed up in the latest episode of "Lie to Me" where the school bus ID number
was 47.   As opposed to some shows where they purposely introduce 47's , this
one seemed like a "natural" synchronicity.   You can see this episode (this
weeks) on Hulu too.

And on a weird tangent note,   I was going to mention a NON 47 oddity where my
town has had earthquakes (SE Tenn) and nationally televised rockslides this past
week.  There was no 47 links until at the exact time I was finishing up the
above paragraph, an email pops up in my mail browser window which has the title.

It's too bad it is impractical to be able to record all the 47 synchs of
everyone on the list to see if there are any correlations.  I can't even keep up
with my own as a new one happens as I am writing up another.  heh.

morning at 9.47, turned on tv to see a pic. of a plane with its tail number
having 47 in it. Went to work and my co-worker said Hi John we had 47 people

Yes.  I do it all the time.   I let the numbers "come to me" instead of forcing
them. I've looked for other numbers and 47's seem to appear more but I'm afraid
I'm programmed to see 47's more easily now.   I picked "26" on a road trip a few
years ago and found I would almost miss some and wonder how many I did miss.   I
think I can catch 47's out of the corner of my eye fairly readily.   I also see
A7's as 47's sometimes so it is a pattern recognition thing I think.   When I
did my informal 26 vs 47 spotting experiment (I counted up both i n the same
period of time) I was also getting about a 3:2 to 2:1.

however, what I do now is just watch out for any numbers which seem to be
repeating in a non forced way.   That is if a car pulls out in front of me and
cuts me off and it has a 47 in it's license plate.  Or if I'm reading a book in
the passenger seat and I notice I'm on page 47 and look up at that instant and
see a car we are passing with a 47 license plate.   I can't just look for 47's
since our telephone prefix is 47.   Interesting that I live in a 47 prefix area,
but it skews the "random" results.

I've posted the numbers I have seen in past posts , and they change from time to
time but there are definite runs I've caught  The popular 2-4 digit numbers for
me in general are

47, 1947, 147, 247, 947, 55, 555, 606, 23

and get a lot of runs with multiple same digit numbers as well as runs of other
number pairs.   Email timestamps are an interesting source to check - then see
what other numbers show up in other places.

Linda Goodman has a good synopsis of what 2-digit numbers mean.

Isnīt that interesting? Iīd guess most of you know of this particular
milliseconds just before you catch another 47.
Itīs like on the way, your eye moves to the sighting, you already know
whatīs happening. But you can only get that afterwards, cause it happens
so fast. I know that memory works with pictures and the human field of
view catches more, than we consciously notice. So that may be an
explanation why we see this number on the logical side, if youīre fixed
on a number. But that canīt explain why we are seeing it, or why we
supposedly had become fixed on it. That would have been a great
coincidence ant there would have been other significant numbers with
groups like this. And it doesnīt explain why 47 infact is the most
emerging number, as we can see from Davids class experiment for example
or creos count.

I have had an increase of 47s on license plates the last time, altough
Iīve always had many license-plate-sightings, there was in ancrease last
time. Itīs so often that I drive off here at 11:47 or come home at such
a time, or I got the last license plate I see, before I drive into the
driveway to my house with a 47 on it. It had become kind of ordinary so
that I didnīt see it so often for a while, I just noticed it again, as
somebody told me, she would see the number too, since she had gotten to
know me and she first didnīt know about my 47 story at all.

That is pretty much the same with me. I got 47, 1947, 147, 247, 947, 28
and 11 and 13.

Hi everyone

I would like to introduce myself to this unique group of 47 enthusiast. My name
is John and I just turned 48 years old, (sorry, can't stay 47 forever) but I
would like to say that I've been plagued or blessed with the number 47, would
like to think blessed,  because I'm having so much fun with it.

My experience with 47 started in my teens with my first real job, employee # 47,
a few years later at another job, again employee #47, than again with another
job, employee #247, and last at my current job, employee #2847. I've always
thought that 47 was a special number to me or my lucky number, until about a
week ago, 47 was popping up everywhere, on license plates, phone numbers,
clocks, order forms at work, and product numbers. The 47 sighting that intrigued
me the most was, the other day I went to a burger joint, with 47 on my mind,
wondering if that will be my order number for my take out. As I walk into the
restraint and up to the counter, the guy behind it yells out, "NUMBER 47!" I was
amazed and had to contain myself from laughing and making a fool of myself.
Anyway that wasn't my order number mine was 50, but it was like he was calling
me by name as I walked up, yelling out #47.

After that incident I thought that there has to be something about this number
47, so I Googled it to satisfy my interest, and was stunned on what came up as
the results. First there was Wikipedia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/47_(number)
which has tons of info on 47, motion pictures, television shows, music, and many
other things. Then listed second, The 47 Society, that's when it got a little
weird for me. Just like many other 47ers that I had read about in their
comments, I thought that I was alone in this 47 thing, but now I know that I'm
not, and that there is something strange, but wonderful about this number 47. 
If over 700 people joined The 47 Society, and countless more view the page and
have similar experiences, and all the people that don't even know about The 47
Society, like me up until the other day, adds up to a lot of people who has 47
as their number. I guess what it comes down to is that 47 is not only my special
number, it's the number for the world, or even the universe. Now I can start to
really have some fun with 47, by reading other peoples experiences and having
more of my own.

Last Wednesday I posted "Glad to be a new member", in that post I said that I
didn't know about The 47 Society until a couple of days ago. That day was Sunday
afternoon November 15 2009. Thanks to Judy's post Happy Week 47, I didn't know
it was week 47 in 2009. That post made me look a little closer at Sunday Nov. 15
the day I discovered The 47 Society. Sunday was the first day of week 47, which
is cool, but what gets my attention is on Nov.15 there is 47 days until Jan. 1,
2010 New Years Day. That to me was truly mindboggling.

Thanks Judy For that post, otherwise I would have never figured that out.

And if you look for another odd synchronicity, the 47th week is in the
11th month.
These two numbers belong together in a special kind of way.
And yesterday I had to call a number at a government agency, the number
ended with 11470 and I thought like, yeah, I knew that already... I
bought something the last time and it would always come out 4,77 € and
things like this. Sometimes I wish to tell the cashier just about this.

I didn't know anything about the special significance of the number 47. However,
I can't stop thinking about the number 47 this week. Very bizarre. So I googled
it and ran across this group. Every time I lay down to close my eyes, the number
47 pops into my head randomly.

Welcome to the 47 Society.

Don't think of 47 too much, nobody has an answer to the significance of 47, it
may dive you nuts and you may start doing strange things. For instants, when
you're writing down other numbers, let's say 5, next thing you know when you
look at what you wrote, it's a 47. I'm guilty of doing that one. Most likely
others have done that too. Instead have fun with it and enjoy all the different
experiences that you encounter with the number 47, even when you write down 5
and turns out to be a 47 instead, and share those experiences with this group.
We would like to hear some of them.
