Apparently, you've missed some previous postings by "ryantaz". He (or she) has mentioned this several times since joining the 47 society and has been noted by other members. Oddly, "ryantaz" first made this comment months ago and therefore the status of 23.5 years would have changed by now, wouldn't it? I wrote to him about possibly being able to help with some answers that he had asked about already, but he seemed uninterested about genuinely finding out ANYTHING. It is possible that he really does have some 47 powers but I must say that I'm getting a little tired of the apparent whining about being so gifted, but still needing answers when he doesn't seem to really want any. By the way, he's mentioned the 23.5 thing in just about every posting he's ever sent and that's getting old too. If he (or she) is really serious about learning what the 47 thing has in store for him (or her), I suggest that "ryantaz" become more available for serious discussion about the subject and quit just going on about having IT in him (or her). We all have this special quality or we wouldn't belong to this society. I think it's safe to assume that the majority of members (if not all) have had this going on for some time, just as he and I have. Also, the comment that he made about his mind power being "highly above others in his generation" sounds more than a little presumptuous to me and the "others in his generation" might take exception to remarks of that nature. I would not like for people who do not have this connection with 47 to think that we consider ourselves above them.

Ryantaz, if you are sincere about learning more about 47 and what it could possibly mean, I suggest you concentrate more on listening to us and less on self-aggrandizement. I apologize beforehand for coming on so strong to you, Ryantaz, because I think you are genuinely gifted in this area and your remarks are simply due to the impetuousness of youth. Perhaps you can one day teach me a thing or two about my connection to 47 and I look forward to that day.   With future respect, Gene247

Ah the fourth of the seventh, a good day for anyone involved in this
area to be writing things. I don't know whether its quite as good as
the 16th of feb but it'll certainly do. Incidentally this is my first
drop in here so I'll just give a brief mention of where I got him
from.
In a stage of thought that I nowadays tend to call naive occultism I
asked what I took at the time to be an objective 'entity' what its
number was, i.e. from that kind of set of thought that tells you all
spirits have a number, old demonology tat etc etc. Using a pack of
cards I dealt them out until I felt I should stop then added up the
total, naturally 47 was the result, I repeated this I can't remember
how many times but it was enough for it to get me and he's been with
me ever since, the number that is. For Years I honestly thought I was
the only perosn in the world with this thing and used to rant on
about it to all manner of people, and frankly was flabbergasted to
see it is a recognised thing, at least to some extent. I'm never sure
whether Im entirely pleased with finding the other people or not for,
as I said, I honestly thought it was mine, so it takes a bit away on
that front. On the other hand though its really probably even more
fantastic to see that it is independently recognised as some kind of
ineffable phenomenon by many people.
Other things I think.
It almost certainly is related to the 23 phenomenon, but I think is
probably more potent, whatever that might mean.
I think its largely impossible to say anything about it in terms of
reasons, qs like 'what is 47?' are literally unanswerable. Possibly a
mathematical physical explanation might come forth but I tend to
think that synchronistic phenomenon transcend ordinary kinds of
empirical knowing. I think the only things you can say have to be
carefully done phenomenologically i.e. treating the phenomenon itself
with no presuppositions about the status of the world. In this way
the 47 and other synchronistic phenomenon reveal themselves as a
disclosing phenomenon of a particular kind, one that breaks through
naturalising attitude and reveals being in a more primordial way.
Thats a tricky bit though as I could quite see that this phenomenon
might be seen as revealing not so much a primordial being but rather
an advancement rather than a retreat, but I tend to think it is a
retreat. That is to understand it as it is, is to get a glimpse of
what it would be like to just see being as magically functioning
rather than all fixed, which I think is a form of repression, or
rather an extreme version of a repression that is a necessary
condition of beiing the kind of being we are.
I restrict it to phenomenology as I think anything else is jsut
speculative science which is all very to do but frankly not going to
get anywhere.
Nothing particularly ground breaking in the above I know and daresay
largely covered in the past but I'm only poking toe to test.

Remember the movie "Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind"? The one where
people all over the world had this obssession with the shape of
Devil's Peak and that little tune they kept repeating over and over?

Sorry if we have mentioned this before, my memory is terrible. I just
was wondering if our 47 thing is anything like this, and where it
will end. There was mention before about star #47 in the Ursa Major
(I think that was it) constellation, did I mention before that some
Hungarian Shamans (folkloric healers)thought that this was where
mankind came from? Sorry again if I'm getting mixed up, but I can't
find my reference on that bit of info.

Anyway, yesterday was 4/7/2002 (in Canada we put the day first)or the
year first, which would make it 2002/7/4, but anyway, on the way to
and from paying for my daughter's upcoming wedding, I saw 5 cars with
947 in the license plate, very unusual, I am lucky to catch one in a
day. The bill for the meal, BTW was $6473.00.

Hope the USA ers had a happy 4th of July! :)

I don't know about that, however I will remind people of the 47 sighting
in "Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind": In the very beginning when they
find the missing WWII era fighter planes in the desert of Mexico, they
identified that these were indeed the missing planes by matching the
serial numbers on the engines. All of the serial numbers started with 47.

Actually this has be a bit curious. Those airplanes in the movie are
supposed to be the same ones that went missing in the Bermuda Triangle.
That event actually happened and is one of the most well-known of the
events that have contributed to the Bermuda Triangle's infamy. I'm
wondering, did the writers of the movie make up those serial numbers out
of thin air or are those the actual bona fide serial numbers on those
missing planes? It'd be an interesting coincidence either way.

I have no idea who would know the truth about that. My guess would be
that there's some Art Bell fan out there who would know. And for those
of you who don't know about Art Bell, he is the king of conspiracy
theories and has his own nationally syndicated late night radio show
devoted to them (see http://www.artbell.com/). Has he been made aware
of the whole 47 thing? I've gotta think it'd be right up his alley and
could be worth some air-time for a willing leader of our group.

For the record, I don't buy into Art Bell's stuff. My aunts are into
him heavily and I found him entertaining one summer when I was working a
graveyard shift, but haven't listened in since. However, I don't doubt
that there are a number of 47-ites who are also Art Bell believers and I
suspect that many more 47-ites might really get into Art Bell if
introduced to him. I apologize both to anybody who I turn on to Art
Bell as well as any Art Bell aficionados I may be offending.

That's a good one. I also had an interesting one a while back. Seems one of my best friends (who was unaware of my affinity for 47 due to concern that he might be skeptical of this topic) has an email address that ends with 247. That is my trademark and my email address begins with that and can be read front to back and back to front. When I inquired why he chose that number he told me it stood for 24/7 (as in 24 hours a day, 7 days a week), he just decided to leave out the slash. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not....   Gene247

The History Channel has been running shows about crop circles, coinciding
with the movie "Signs".

On History's Mysteries, they mentioned in the late eighties, how two guys
named Doug and Dave claimed that they were responsible for all the crop
circles since 1978. To help prove that all crop circles were not hoaxes --
besides mentioning how these two guys couldn't have made all the circles in
so many countries -- they had to find evidence of a crop circle before
1978. In Minnessota, in 1975, a farmer found a mutilated calf in his field.
Later, a pilot flying over his field found there were 47 crop circles in
that same field.

I was driving a friend of mine to Corpus Christi, Texas and I was discussing
the 47 phenomenon with her and she was giving me the regular crap about
coincidence and telling me I must be crazy. I told her that not only did I think
this was a genuine phenomenon but that it also played a role in my relationship
with one of my best friends and me. I told her that I was surprised that I had
yet to see a license plate (I often get messages from license plates with 47 in
them) that said K47 KXG. She asked what that would mean to me and I told her
(the story is a long one). A vehicle bearing that license plate passed us within
10 seconds and pulled over in front of us! She asked me "how you do that?"
(she's from Taiwan). I told her "I'm good". I also told her that this was very
good Karma and that I would most likely have an awesome weekend and so would my
friend Kirsten wherever she might be. I was correct on both accounts! I hooked
up with Kirsten for some beers a few days later and she gave me an account of
her weekend and according to her it was one of the best she had ever had. Mine
was also SPECTACULAR! Gene247

Here is an actual demonstration of the actual frequency of the occurrence of
every number between 0 and 1,000,000:
http://www.turbulence.org/Works/nums/index.html

The visualization is a BLAST to play with. This site is a numerological
thrill ride.

Unfortunately it shows that 47 is the least commonly occurring number in the
40's in all 3 datasets.

Check this stuff out:

In the Dec 1997 dataset:
The number 4 is the 7th most commonly occurring number
The number 7 is the 11th most common
33 is the 47th most commonly occurring number

In the Apr 1998 dataset:
Again, the number 4 is the 7th most commonly occurring number
The number 7 is the 10th most common
1993 is the 47th most commonly occurring number

In the Jan 2002 dataset:
Data wasn't available about the frequency of 4 or 7
The 47th most commonly occurring number is 42! For all of us who think
Douglas Adams got it wrong, this is just spooky.

And finally, and this I thought was just plain bizarre, the guy who came up
with this site is Golan Levin, no relation, I'm sure, to our own Eric
Levine. But was a fun coincidence.

Augusta enjoys the most unique television deal in sports. The NFL,
NBA and Major League Baseball are paid rights fees by the various
networks, who in turn sell advertising time to cover their costs and
beyond. Golf is different. Title sponsors are required to buy a
minimum amount of advertising time, assuring that the networks don't
lose money. And The Masters is different from that.

For 47 years, the club has had one-year contracts with CBS, and there
are rules: minimal commercial breaks, just four minutes per hour
(compared to 15 to 18 on other golf telecasts); no station breaks; no
network promotions; and until this year, limited coverage of the
front nine.
