This seems to be the cause. Plugged into the phone socket is an
Npower telephone adapter & the telephony feed from the Sky digibox.
Through elimination I've was able to identify that it was the Sky
connection at fault. I got a clue over the weekend when I tried to
subscribe to a Box Office movie. I got a modem error message saying
that the telephone was not connected - but it was. The technician's
coming out to check it but I'm guessing that the Digibox's modem was
upset by the lightening.

My Solo doesn't want to connect at any other speed than 26,400bits/s. Normally connections would have been 48,000. The only cause I can think of is a recent...
