Re: Windows XP and Phonetools

Thanks John;

Downloaded, and runs fine.

For anyone who has this problem in future, though, once you've
installed Windows XP Fax monitor, John's Solo Messenger can't
contact the modem - fax monitor is already controlling it. There's
an option in fax monitor whereby you can switch off the "Receive"
function, but this worked erratically at best. In the end, the best
solution I found was to remove XP's fax function, then reinstall it,
as send-only. I can now use XP to send faxes, the Solo receives
them, and John's program downloads them for me.

Running in "Compatability" mode didn't work at all, I'm not sure why.

I'm going to try and get a copy of phonetools that runs under XP,
just to see if it will "collect" faxes received while the PC was
off. BVRP software haven't answered my e-mails - probably because I
wrote in English. If "Phonetools v4 for XP" works as normal, I'll
report back!

Thanks again;

Tim Turner
