Dear IITians,
Firstly, I would like to acknowledge you all, for all the
efforts that you have put in for JEE preparation. In one way or the
other, you all are extraordinary individuals who dare to dream big,
who stood up and taken on something which seems impossible to many
and many of students. So, at this moment acknowledge yourself for
what all you have done and the way you have done.
Now, at this moment the most crucial element for your
preparation is your mental state i.e. your being. Make sure IITian
in you is in full _expression. Lot many things will come to you at
this point of time esp. the ones which might affect you adversely.
Doubts, confusion, pressure, threats, fears are your biggest enemy
at this point of time. They may make you feel being unprepared,
being underprepared, being imcomplete, being skeptical or even worse
being resigned, being dejected, being worthless. Now, tell me does
that help?? Simply NO. A big NO. Remember faliure with good reasons
for faliure is never equal to success. So, always keep an eye on
your mental coordinates and be on your side. If any thing comes up,
simply give that up. Say if fear comes up for you. Simply say ok i
know it is fear- SO WHAT. I now giveup that fear. I am perfect,
whole and complete. IITian in me will Showup in the World. I am on
my side and nothing in this universe can force me. Yes! I am the
architect of my future.
Now, the second element in your preparation is action plan.
Trust me, you have already covered major syllabus of IIT JEE. Living
with a sense of incompletion (of any nature) won't help. Now, revise
your concepts mentally. Take on concepts and start recalling what
all you know about the concept. Recall is always a better method
then reading. Make mental images and organize what you already know.
At the end, just scan through your reference text, if you have
missed something. Also, note that working with pen and paper only
reduces you efficiency. Make your mind work more then your hands.
Take problems and mentally recollect how will you approach the
problem.
And yes, you need to solve lot more practise/past year
papers/test. Analyse the trend on marks obtained. Though the trend
may be fluctuating but there must be parameters which will always
remain constant.Look out for parameters which are volatile in
nature. Take note of such parameters and work on them.Identify whats
missing and provide that. Identify weak areas precisely and work on
them.
And finally, please do not go into examination with any preset
notions about the pattern, about cutoffs, about success rate, about
any subject, any topics say for example there should be more
comprehension based questions or there should not be any multiple
answer correct questions or if pattern is this particular way then
it will be good, if that way then it will be bad, or easy or tough..
or exam should be easy or tough, calculus se jyada questions aane
chahiye then i stand a chance etc... Once you are baised or having
preset notions then any changes/ variation may surprise you or even
worse upset you and may affect your performance. So, always keep
your cool, simply dont panic. It wont help. Just trust yourself and
the IITian in you. And moreso over trust IIT, they know what they
are doing, why they are doing and for whom they are doing. They wont
be throwing dices at you but assisting the IITian in you to showup.
So, simply cheer up!! Make sure you smile often!! Love yourself!!
and Believe you are the BEST and You Deserve the BEST.
Love you all.
All the Best
Amit Sharma
