<from my perspective>

In the 1980s, if you were a nerd, you were participating in the BBS movement.
Lots of nerds was too shy to make friends face to face however through the
computer, their views became out spoken. It was the first social network,
communicating via comp. Even though this was great, it was still missing that
human interaction.

In the depths of Volusia County of Central Florida, a set of people wanted to
make that change. These people were kids from Deland High School; Ron
(Risktaker), Jeff(Outlander), Tim(Gandalf), and Jim (Kobyashi/Semi-Nerd). They
heard and participated in the local BBS such as Castle of Doom. The type of
messages posted were so hilarious. I think the best ones were the fights
because its nerds trying to act tough :)

No matter what, Ron/Jeff/Tim/Jim brought these BBSers together away from the
computer. They setup the first BBS party in Central Florida (From my
understanding). They held it at the Deland Bowling Lanes. I wasn't there but I
heard only 2 new people showed up (David/Inn Keeper and Tim/Babel*).
