At a staff meeting of the gallery this morning, sneezing was discussed. All 5
other participants mentioned that they had the 'sneezing at the sun allergy'.
6 out of 6 people sneeze at bright light after dark adaptation.
No one knew why.
Humans are funny people.
Humans are brilliantly stupid fauna, a herd which nests in boxes stacked upon
each other, whether in a skyscraper or underground or on a cruise ship in mid
ocean.
Amongst Homo sapiens and unlike orangutans, hermits need permits and survive in
the inter-group marginal buffer zones, ruling tiny turfs until neighboring
empires need more "inexhaustible resources" to be taken by weary serfs with the
authorization of the local gods, priests, rulers and two-faced traders, until
the empire strikes out.
How did it all happen?
Gelada-like monkey-apes sit-float-feeding in wetlands,
immersed crouch-dip-feeding hominins in mangroves,
ARC diving/backfloating, dive song, tek tek tek Homo,
apex nomads in groups, arguing yet obeying, testing sapiens.
Elsewise we'd just be happy to climb trees like gibbons.
Both species walk on two legs and lack tails and laryngeal air sacs; but while
they climb and swing, we dive, speak, think, work, etc.
