ALP is an ASP/CGI engine which works as asynchronous pluggable protocol and executes WEB applications on the local machine instead of requesting a remote WEB server. ALP is flexible and supports WEB server like settings. They can be set per application/directory level. It maintains good level of compatibility with traditional ASP and CGI. The special viewer ALPFrame allows ALP to run without installation - directly from a CD-ROM for example and also extends the DHTML model with flexible and easy to use menus API which allows the page being viewed to fully control its browser window and thus bahave like typical desktop applciation.
