Description

A subset of SimplySolar, this group, AdvancedSolar is set up for the discussion of advanced solar topics including:

- Variable flow

- Phase change thermal storage

Please post all other solar related topics to SimplySolar.

Think of AdvancedSolar as a subset of SimplySolar. Everyone on AdvancedSolar should also be a member of SimplySolar. We are all in the same school, the AdvancedSolar folks will just be getting the advanced content as well.

SimplySolar is about brainstorming and sharing ways to implement solar heat in easy ways that the average homeowner, who may not be much of a "do-it-yourselfer" (like me), can use to put money back in their pockets, green back in the environment and have a lot of fun along the way!

Our purpose is to share the fun and provide support for others who would like to brainstorm, design and install solar collector systems that are easy and inexpensive to build, installed in neighborhood friendly ways and work well. Whether we discover some new ideas or rediscover some old ones, finding ways to make solar easy, practical, inexpensive and fun for everyone is what we are all about!

Take care,
Scott

What you are wanting to do sounds right. You might want to get a Kill a Watt meter to check the voltage out ac frequency and that it puts it out around 120

Re: Testing a used Solar inverter/charger
Can't you just connect it to some batteries and then run some AC loads off the output? Maybe a drill or power saw? Both AC and DC sides should be fused to
