Description
This site is dedicated to afocal (through the eyepiece) digital astro photography. This is also known as "digiscoping". There are other groups available, but it has become harder to sift through loads of slr discussion seeking information pertaining to afocal astro. This site is not about webcams, digital video camcorders (although they are afocal), or digital slr's. This type of photography started in earnest in 2000, the first discussion groups appeared less than a year later and have really taken off. With the advent of the higher end digital slr's, the ordinary afocal users have been left behind by the broader based groups, even though there is still plenty of the envelope left to be pushed. Therein is the need for this group, everyone is welcomed to share their pics, experiences, and thoughts in order to benefit their fellow astronomers.
The Links area now contains links to multiple vendors of afocal camera to scope adapters. Please check that resource first if looking for an adapter for your camera and eyepiece combination.
New members are now moderated so do not try spamming here. It will not be posted and you will be banned.
