Pinochet Regime Sued More than 30 Journalists

SEPTEMBER 21 - 26, 1990 Three journalists are jailed by order of the
military courts for "offense to the armed forces." Charges against
Juan Pablo Cardenas were eventually dropped and he was released. Juan
Andres Lagos and Alfonso Stephens were released on bail. By the end
of 1990, 30 journalists had been the subjects of legal actions
brought by the military courts for the same offense.
