Hello everyone. I'm new too. S.B. Do you have a specific question
in mind? Maybe we can initiate a decent thread.

As a newby here, I didn't even know they had conferences?!? Is there a
link somewhere for the info? I live in southern California, so the
drive would only be about 4 hours. Wow, what a wonderful way to dive
into the world of alchemy! :)

Hello Paul,
Wow, and I thought it would be bad to fly in from the East Coast!
Normally I'm cheap so I like to drive, but I draw the line at 8
hours....Vegas would be 48 hours round trip. No way!!!!!
I registered just before the early discount deadline, so I'm glad
they offered that. And thanks for the opinion on the Practical
seminar-- I figure too that if I'm going to come all that way, might
be the only chance I get for a while!

Hi Melanie,
I've liked the course. The material is good (at least the first 2
modules I've seen), and I've learned a lot-- also the graded exams I
got back had good feedback. But, they've been horribly slow in
getting back to me. I've been waiting for module 3 since I got my exam
back...having paid for all but the adpet course up front. But that should get
better once things are settled down from their move.
If you're not looking for personalized tutoring, just a course on
practical alchemy to work through, I'd recommend the Philosophers of
Nature material. I think you can still order them-- but I'm not
sure. The vegetable spagyrics course is good. You might also be
able to find it through Occult Digital Mobilization.

I also attended last year. If there is any way you can manage to attend, do so. I thought the speakers were wonderful, engaging, and extremely informative. I had to jump through hoops to manage getting there and it was well worth it! Unfortunately, finances and logistics are keeping me home this year but I am planning on next year if it continues.
I agree with Paul that Robert's workshop should not be missed. I felt, last year, that there were many people at the workshop that signed up last minute, who had no idea about any lab work (please don't misunderstand me, this is not a bad thing at all). They had thousands of questions (literally) and slowed the workshop to nearly a crawl----not that the information wasn't WONDERFUL--just that he didn't get to cover all that I had hoped for. It would be fantastic if he could do two workshops, one beginner, one a little more advanced. But I know that they crowd so much into a short weekend that this would not be possible. He was great and has SO much to offer in the workshop----definitely sign up for it!!! I would suggest reading his book Real Alchemy also, if you have not done so already. Great info in there!
My advice is to attend every lecture. Some of the ones that I thought would not interest me (thankfully, I didn't skip them) turned out to be the best! Spend time with the vendors also--they were very helpful. It is great, if you can swing it--go! Wish I could this year!!

I have had similar experiences with other rosecrucian groups to
there defence they are trying to bring together parts of knowledge
that are quite diferent in aspect, namely science and religion. You
can see why they could be touchy about there position. The number
of rosecrucian groups just the U.S. is quite surprising most with
much diferent material tahn the last. There are a number of the
just in California the largeset actualy runs a museum and park. the
museum boasts the largest quantity of egyptian antiquity in the U.S.
I am looking at a card from them now.
the survival of the rosecrucian concept was undoubtedly through the
Masons, and seemingly originated in a public form, and I know
someone might complain about the timeframe, in France in the 1600's
when several papers where published, namely "The Chymical Wedding of
Christian Rosecruz." The booklet sold and someone folloed it with a
leaflet and poster campaign that was almost seditious and claimed
connection with the Antichrist. I believe this to be for shock
value, but needless to say they where condemed by church officials,
and the material enjoyed a certen popularity while the writers
remained anonomus. The existance of such a group before then and
even then is to me doubtful. But, they certenly are in existance
now, and in many forms. including being an aformentioned part of the
Masons to which they undoubtly owe there survival. They tend to be
a bit overprotective of there metaphysics, and are qute secretivve.
When I asked a question of morality about the text I was answered
yes but, ". . . why drive a (old car) spiritualy." when I wrote a
criticism ot the work I was doing with them I was soundly rebuffed
with no response at all even though I had studied with them for a
matter of months. Needless to say, I was 'put off' too. I no
longer study with them. I hope they are not as the original
leaflets claimed in colusion with the Antichrist, and would like
them to accept criticism better. I hope I have dispelled any
illusions any of you might have had and I hope none take offence.

Hi,
I wanted to share my experience with ormus essences. I have a set of
ormus essences from the Etherium Gold line. I have pasted the link
below to the product.
http://www.harmonicinnerprizes.com/mineralessencesprays.html
Haromonic Innerprizes, the company who creates the essences
describes them as below.
"These mineral essences are a direct energy transfer and are exact
duplicates of the energy fields of their mother substance, i.e. a
specific Etherium powder. "
They describe the experience as below.
"The experience of taking the powder or capsules can be quite
different than the experience of the mineral essence sprays, even
though the energy is identical. The powders, since they are from the
earth most directly affect the energies of the physical body, since
it is also a by-product of the earth. The mineral essences more
directly affect the subtle energy fields that surround the body."
Now, I will describe my experience. At first, I wasn't so sure of
the product. I expected nothing and even wondered if it was a scam.
I thought it could just be water put in the bowl where their ormus
powder once was. What a great business I thought. They are selling
water and calling it this essence. I am only saying this to let you
know that I initially walked into this product expecting nothing but
to be disappointed. But instead it changed how I look at, well,
maybe everything.
At the first spritz (which I have done both sublingually and on my
face), I noticed a brief physical reaction. Then, the reactions
after that were more on the level of my awareness. From the physical
side, I was feeling some healing, and felt energetic, alert, focus,
clarity...But my awareness shifted to a different area of me that
was unexplored. I don't know what this area is since it just opened
up yesterday. It was as if I was awake on a different level. I was
able to channel all the information I needed for my work and was
able to manifest everything I wanted or needed. I did, however, go
through some negative experiences in that I kept taking more. I have
accute sensitity to EMF's. And there was a point in which I felt an
energetic battle was going on between the competing energies of the
essence and the frequency of my computer. I became almost violently
angry. When I got away from my computer and went out on my bike to
work it off, I was fine. I finally was able to return to my computer
with more peace. Now, this has been a situation going on with me for
awhile. The product just seemed to make it more intense for awhile.
I did find it better to cut back on the amount I took.
But this leads me into the awareness that it opened up. Ormus opened
me up previously and I have become a sensitive. But this essence
seemed to strengthen my abilities in this area. I could feel
everything. I could finally really feel my crystals. I was able to
really get to know them and felt as if almost they were taking me
into a different dimension, maybe their dimension. I am not sure.
But is was as if they were introducing me to their essence. As I
held them, I would go deeper and deeper into "their world". I wonder
if anyone has had experiences like this with crystals. After getting
to know the crystals, I was able to get to know other substances
such as clay, epsom salts, and I even picked up that the two don't
seem to "get along". They are so vastly different that they just
can't seem to unite. I found this as I tried to mix them for a bath
and realized they just didn't want to be together.
Anyway, I then tried to create my own essence. I had a bottle in
which I had my trap water and crystals in the bottom of the bottle.
I had this bottle charging in the sun and under the moon when the
trap water was in it. But the trap water has been out of it for a
week now. I have been filling it up several different times with
just water. Yesterday, when I went to refill it with water, I could
feel what felt like the "power" or "essence" or "fumes" (I don't
know how to describe it. But I felt the energy coming out of the
bottle as I put the water in. I realized that this must be an
essence. The essence of the trap water with the crystals, the sun
etc. was very powerful in the bottle.
Anyway, I am fascinated by the essences. For now, I find them to
even be more healing and consiousness opening than the ormus
products. I am not sure I will feel this forever. But I am greatly
enjoying my newfound senses.
I would love to hear more about others' experiences with making or
taking ormus essences.
Mel
You don't have to apologize at all for asking your questions. If one is new to the study of the occult sciences, there will always be questions like yours as well as several others.
Please allow me to get right to it...
Taking Drugs: No you will not be asked to take drugs of any kind as a student of alchemy. Flamel College is even very safe in their teachings by not even recommending that you consume your own alchemical products (such as the oils of metals, etc.). Any alchemist knows that it is perfectly safe to consume PROPERLY PREPARED alchemical elixirs, tinctures, etc. But the thing is, if one has improperly prepared elixirs and such, then Flamel College is right saying it is potentially dangerous. This is simply to encourage people's own judgment, and of course also to make sure that it is the student's own responsibility. And when the college is as strict even about matters such as this, you can be sure that there is no practice of taking drugs as a student of alchemy - and I doubt that would be the case for any of the other occult teachings available as well.
Renouncing Religion: You will not be asked to renounce your religion in order to study alchemy, far from it! Religion deals with the divine, right, and the occult sciences (magic, alchemy, etc.) are also regarded as "The Divine Sciences", because that is exactly what they are. They deal with the forces of the universe - the forces of creation. And I believe it safe to say that any person who does not believe in an ultimate, intelligent force (whether you want to refer to it theologically or scientifically - from an occult standpoint, of course) behind the creation of all has no business in occultism. Because how would such a person ever be able to understand the concept of handling the forces of creation that are all permeating throughout the entire universe in a systematic and organized fashion, if one did not believe in any of it? This being said, one doeas not have to be a Christian, a Jew, a Shintôist, or part of any other particular religion. Many alchemists and magicians of the past were very religious and often spoke of God in their texts (ancient alchemical texts, grimoires, and such), but there are also those who speak of God in a more "scientific" way - The Emerald Tablet being one example, speaking of God as "The One Mind". "The Kybalion" is another example, speaking of God as "The All". So what is important, rather than what particular system of theological belief you choose to follow, is that you are of a mind that is capable of comprehending and understanding the teachings of the occult sciences. This may sound a bit strange, but it will make much more sense once you begin your actual study and practice of alchemy, or any other occult/hermetic science.
I hope this was a help to your questions and I apologize if my post was a bit too long.
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask anytime.
Sincerely,
Tesposinus.

Hi everyone,
My name is Richard and I'm a self-defined skeptic. Yet I'm strangely drawn to certain aspects of alchemy and I'm rather excited about learning. So I'm thinking of fiving Flamel College a shot. I'm currently a psychology major at a traditional school and love it, wouldn't want the two to mesh, don't even want to try to make them mesh.
But I do have a couple of questions, and beyond that I hoped some of you could tell me a little more about the college from your own experince and a little about perspectives in alchemy.
Firtly, seeing certain post in this board, I have to ask; I'm not trying to knock what anyone else does but will I be asked to take narcoticts of any kind? I won't do that. So it's best if I know now.
Secondly, will the course curriculum be based on a spiritual sense of science or will it ask me to denounce my own faith entirely? Won't do that eithier. Though I am a mesianic Jew and I see there are some kabbalah courses offered at flamel so it would seem pretty ironic.
I'm sorry if my questions sound ignorant. I don't try to hide it; I am ignorant and I am here to learn. I appreciate your help.

Just to alleviate your questions.
No You wont be asked to take any narcotics and no you will not be
asked to renounce your religion.
You may find that it will enhance your spiritual practice and deepeen
your understanding of your religious philosophy.
Alchemy is not a religion but a path to spiritual awakining and
purification.
hope this helps you
Cheers
Wayne
Hello, everyone
I am new to the "alchemy Student forum" and just received my 1st
Alchemy homestudy module. I was hoping to find discussion groups
relating to all the alchemy modules and can't seem to find any student
discussions relating to any of the modules. Since I am a complete
beginner to all this type of material, I was really hoping to find
discussions that would help me along the way to correctly
understand/interpet the material given. Is there anyone here besides
myself, currently taking the Alchemy homestudy program? Anyone
currently working on module one?
S.B.

That sounds extreamly shady. I'm new to all this, so forgive me if I
back stab terminology in a way that offends. I know the word 'occult'
is sometimes used loosely in a place like Flamel, but frankly, this is
the scary part of what people call an occult.
I give credit to Flamel for being fairly open and honest about their
curriculum. They don't sugar coat it. It is what it is and if its not
for you move on. Although, even Flamel is a little confusing, but you
can tell they are at least TRYING to clarify things. Even traditional
school's have confusing web pages, it seems to come with the
territory. If someone doesn't want to give you information about their
institution, it sounds shady and maybe even dangerous. If they won't
answer your questions, avoid them. Otherwise you may find yourself in
pretty deep with something you don't want to be a part of.
Hey--
Is anyone here going to the conference in las Vegas in October?
I think I may go-- gonna decide in the next few days.
Anyone go to the last one and want to talk about how it went?
I'm also thinking about signing up for the Practical Alchemy
seminar. Is it worth the money?

Hi everyone,
My name is Richard and I'm a self-defined skeptic. Yet I'm strangely
drawn to certain aspects of alchemy and I'm rather excited about
learning. So I'm thinking of fiving Flamel College a shot. I'm
currently a psychology major at a traditional school and love it,
wouldn't want the two to mesh, don't even want to try to make them
mesh.
But I do have a couple of questions, and beyond that I hoped some of
you could tell me a little more about the college from your own
experince and a little about perspectives in alchemy.
Firtly, seeing certain post in this board, I have to ask; I'm not
trying to knock what anyone else does but will I be asked to take
narcoticts of any kind? I won't do that. So it's best if I know now.
Secondly, will the course curriculum be based on a spiritual sense of
science or will it ask me to denounce my own faith entirely? Won't do
that eithier. Though I am a mesianic Jew and I see there are some
kabbalah courses offered at flamel so it would seem pretty ironic.
I'm sorry if my questions sound ignorant. I don't try to hide it; I
am ignorant and I am here to learn. I appreciate your help.
Hello,
I am an Alchemy Home Study graduate (a graduate on all seven Modules),
and am interested in becoming an instructor. Could anyone inform me on
the procedure of becoming one?
Thanks,
George
I hope that this post is "on topic". If it is not, please accept
my most sincere regrets.
First of all, I want to clarify that I am not "flaming" any group
or writing this to put down another organization. I just want to
share a bizarre experience I had with a group
called S.R.I.A. which stands for "Societas Rosicruciana in America"?
and ask if anyone out there knows anything further about that group.
The reason I ask is the following. There is something extremely
suspicious, if not outright shady, about them. I wrote to the
address on their website asking for information about their
organization and course of study. I received a package of
documents in the mail including an informational brochure and
an application for membership. I had a lot of questions about the
topics discussed in the informational brochure and about their
course of study, so I sent an e-mail to their organization's
official e-mail address setting forth a list of very legitimate
detailed questions about specific items in their brochure and
very politely and respectfully requested further information about
those issues. Within a few hours I received an e-mail reply back
from SRIA. You will not believe what the e-mail said. I will
actually cut and paste it right from their e-mail, as follows:
"The information package given to those who request it, is more than
general information regarding our system of study. We feel the
information provided by our Society is sufficient for a sound
decision before joining.
Best wishes,
S:.R:.I:.A:."
Can you believe that? They did not acknowledge or address a single
issue that I raised in my questions!!! So, I wrote an e-mail back
stating that it was quite confusing and puzzling why they would
not answer any of my questions. Guess what? They have not even
responded back.
I can not imagine a group that claims to be a "Mystery School"
refusing to answer legitimate questions from prospective students.
They must really have a lot to hide. How could a school expect
someone to commit to a minimum three year course of study and
send in an annual membership fee based on the very brief information
set forth in their brochure and then refuse to answer requests for
additional information????
This sounds to me like a definite con artist group that is afraid
to deal with anyone who dares to ask a few questions. They must
be thinking that if you are smart enough to ask questions before
joining, you might be too smart to fall for their con.
At least that is the impression I received from my interaction with
SRIA. Does anyone out there have any similar or different
experiences with this group that they would like to share????
Once again, this is not a "flame" or a negative e-mail about that
group. I was just so blown away by my experience with them that I
am wondering if anyone out there has any information about them.
They claim to be a Mystery School and have a curriculum that
purportedly teaches hermetics, alchemy, etc., so they seem to be
at least somewhat similar to interests in this Alchemy news group.
Thank so much and have a wonderful day!!!!!

Hello,
I have a completed exam for the 2nd module of your Alchemy course.
Who should I send it to for scoring, since the ...@flamelcollege
addresses aren't working? Is there a new fax number also?
Thanks!

Hello, My name is James. I am 25 and live near Seattle. I started
studying esoteric arts before I turned 21 through life experiences and
the ritual use of plant based psychedelics while living in a grove of
redwood trees in Santa Cruz, CA. Ready to evolve out of Santa Cruz, at
23 I moved to WA state, began living in a house again, joined Builders
of the Adytum, and made my first attempt at Flamel College. That point
in my life reminds me of the analogy that says something to the effect
of "A little coal will build a fire, a lot of coal will build a bigger
fire, and too much coal will smother a fire"..... Now, at the
beginning of 2008, I have reinstated myself at Flamel College, joined
AMORC (A Rosicrucian Order out of San Jose, CA) and am still happily
toddling along with my B.O.T.A. work.... I have more free time and am
more functional that this point than ever before in my life and am
excited to see where this path of learning leads me. So that's my
esoteric studies in a nutshell.... I would like to see this forum
flourish into a place filled with teachers and students alike, all
joined together to celebrate and share the hidden art of
evolution..... So that's my intro....Where's your's?
Gnothi Seauton,
James
P.S. I will be posting this in 3 similar forums.... Maybe someone
could enlighten me as to why we need 3 forums that center around the
same subject and place? I don't want to be repetitive but I do want to
find out which forum is the most functional.....
So I sometimes see pictures in my head without fully understanding the
details..... I have a scenario brewing in my head but before
experimenting, I would like some feedback from those that know
best.... Please know that I am familiar with the safety procedures
surrounding the use of Nitric Acid......
So here goes.....
1. I want to take undeveloped film in mass quantities and burn it in
my kiln on say less than 1000F.....
2. I then want to take the ashes and put them in a flat bottomed pyrex
flask
3. Then cover with nitric acid in a ratio of 2 parts NA to 1 part ashes
4. Then incubate for less than a day with a stopper that allows for
air exchange
5. Then drain into a buchner funnel and vacuum filter 3 times
6. This is where I'm lost...... Do I reclaim as much nitric acid as
possible through distillation and then evap outdoors?
7. Maybe I add some stuff that says it will cause the silver to
precipitate out.... This is a proprietary chemical called SAC or SPC
from Shor International.
8. Ideally, someone would reply with a non proprietary chemical that
causes metallic silver to fall out of silver nitrate....
9. Also, can anyone tell me some uses for silver nitrate, or even some
experiments that involve it?
Once again, I will post this in 3 forums until I learn which one is
most useful....
Thanks for reading,
James
P.S. It should be known that I intend to complete this experiment
within 2.5 days from start to finish, so I can make the whole process
happen while the moon is in cancer..... Is this good, or should I draw
it out to make some processes happen under different signs?
Several students have reported problems communicating with Flamel
College administration over the last few months.
Flamel College recently moved into a new building and changed phone and
Internet services. There have been a lot of problems starting up again.
We are finally getting settled in again, but we are still experiencing
problems with email to any of the "@flamelcollege" addresses. Please
resubmit all queries to "flamel@..." until the problems with
the server are solved.
Sincerely,
Andrea Zuckavich

Welcome to the Alchemy Student Forum! This discussion group is
intended for students and instructors of the Alchemy Home Study
Program at Flamel College.
This forum is now six years old but our website-based PHP forum was
the subject of a lot of hacking, spam, and technical problems, so we
have decided to move it to the public Yahoo groups servers. At least
here we can expect more continuous service, which has been a problem
in the past.
So if you see anything wrong, or if some idiot is posting spam,
please let me know. This forum is intended for serious students of
alchemy, so lets stick to the point. Attacks on other members of the
forum will not be tolerated, and queries on your grades or problems
with delivery of materials should be sent directly to me.
