Seeds are so easy that I probably would just go that route. Cuttings can
be hard to root in chestnuts. Some Chinese cultivars will root, but the
American chestnut usually won't.
Sometimes seed nuts in damp moss will sprout right in the fridge when the
time is nearly up. Just plant them then, as they are ready.
Grow in a sunny window till it's warm enough to plant them
out. here....I'll send you a picture so you'll know what to do.
