July 4th 2003 we tried to cross a nice large American. The tree is
60' tall and DBH of 17". It does not have any blight yet. Since it
is located in the woods and has no access to it by bucket truck we
had to try another method. We used a non-invasive climbing tree
stand. However, once the climber reached the first set of branches
he was able to see the flowers were not ready. We hope to attempt
this again when the flowers are ready.
