Just wanted to mention my son, Nathaniel, & I planted Delmarvolus
(from Conneticut) & Kastanu (2nd generation from Leelanau Co. MI)
nuts on our land in Copemish, MI. I had kept them in moist Moss
bags over the winter and had several sprout. Those that didn't
sprout yet were still moist & looked to be in good shape. We covered
about 8 acres worth in different sections as well as Planting a few
American Chestnut Tree saplings throughout the mix. Our farm was
formally a pine tree area so the soil if fairly acidic but still
fertile enough in sections to get other varieties growing. We have a
total area of about 50 acres bording State Hard Woods.
