Howdy Timm,
On the subject of batteries for your hybrid vehicle, I think you
might find that the 'Vanadium solution Redox system' is desireable.
It offers some 16000 deep cycles, and is not harmed by being left in
a state of discharge.
It is based on a solution of Vanadium and Sulphuric acid. Pumps move
the fluid through the cells where charging and discharging occur.
These offer the ability to be recharged by either replacing the
electrolyte or applying electrical energy from your generator.
The latter attribute is desireable for regenerative braking, as the
Redox Battery can take massive inputs of power during these braking
moments.
I hope this will be helpful in your endeavours.
Best wishes,
Steve McAmptramp.
