RE: [Aristolochia] aristolochia gorgona cross section

Hi Mario,
Thanks for the correction, I will add a bit more red to the purple.  I was using alizarin crimson sparingly mixed with a lot of purple.  Now I can go full power on this crimson to push the red.  Your paper on the hybrid with photos showing a grandiflora and gorgona on side view side by side gave a good idea on the colour , I will follow that.
Thank you again.
Next I want to work on the stem and the leaves, I have pictures of the individual leaf but somehow not so much of how the leaves arrange on the stem.  Are gorgona leaves arranged like grandiflora leaves?  I got grandiflora plant here in my terrarium, so I can sketch from that, if they look similar arranging on a stem.
Victor

Very nice, Victor!  Looks very realistic and the colors are very accurate. The only thing is that the external veins of the flower are a little more red (not so purple), but the purple is correct for the internal spots.

Hi everybody,
This is the cross section of the interior of the flower based on Mario's photos and drawings.  I hope the colouring interpretation is alright.  It is kind of difficult to represent the white fur inside the interior.
Victor

Hi Victor, yes, the leaves are very similar to those of A. grandiflora, and are arranged in the same way along the stem. To: Aristolochia@yahoogroups.com From:...
