Hi, all you animal lovers. This is pretty simple. Please tell ten (or more)
friends to tell ten today! The Animal Rescue Site is having trouble getting
enough people to click on it daily to meet their quota of getting free food
donated every day to abused and neglected animals. It takes less than a minute
to go to their site and click on "feed an animal in need" for free. It's in a
purple box in the middle of the page. This doesn't cost you a thing. Their
corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate food to
abandoned/neglected animals in exchange for advertising.
Here's the web site! Pass it along to people you know.

I was rear-ended by a car this morning. Right then, I knew it was going to be a
really bad day!

When the driver got out of his car, I realized he was a dwarf, as were the other
people in his car.

He looked up at me and said, "I am not happy!"

So I said, "Well, which one are you then?"

And that's how the fight started..

Thought I would forward this......just in case. Or maybe someone can help them
out. With the dog people in these groups someone has to know something lol

Scott (my friend) rescued 6 black lab (mix) puppies out of the middle of the
road on Saturday. PLEASE help me find them homes - otherwise, it's Animal
Control - which means they only have 5 days. We've bathed them, sprayed them for
fleas and wormed them....but we can't keep them. They are currently in a kennel
in my basement since I don't have a fence. I've lost count of the number of
rescue groups that I've contacted, only to be turned down due to no room. Please
check with every dog person you know to see if they need a puppy.

I hear that. I've been working as many hours as possible to try to pay off
some debts (or just keep current) while my teenage daughter has gone nuts
and been removed from the home. Wife off work with depression and all..

fun fun fun. Taken some time off to go to The Big Green Gathering. They've
got a solar powered internet cafe. I don't know what is powering it at the
moment, as it has been raining half the day.

I must get the BBS stuff sorted out. Sigh. All I've had time to work on is
larryniven.org ...

LOL yes... after ya have done it for so long... PPL start to pay ya to go
out.... especialy the big events... LOL... me and my crew get hired out as mercs
to gaurd royalty and such... LOL... usualy it's as much booze as we can drink.
Also get paid to do demos for schools and such, like last year I got to goto an
MDA camp for kids and give demos on the armour and let the kids get up close to
it and show off my horse in full armour. not much for payment.... 1/2 the gas
for the trip, my meals and lodging... but was still fun.
and definatly... no kids.... ever... lol not grown up nuff myself for that.
doubt I ever will be.
Next stops for me is the prize tourny in globe then I'm off to disneyland to
do the set up and practice for the live stage fight we are doing for the opening
of pirates 3.... that should be interesting.... I get to play the villian LOL

Working on http://larryniven.org ... thinking about resurrecting this:

Should really do some stuff with the BBS again. So many geeky projects, so
little time.

I just got stuck working on the blogging software (which I co wrote) for
fly-by-night-aerospace (and other blogs I've got) to prevent spam. I had to
delete 50,000 spam comments the other day. So far, seems to be holding...

Hi Michael,
I don't think I've been to Prescott in ages.... How long a drive is it from
here? Depending on how I feel I might take a drive up there, just to say hi.
Can you please send me the details? Thanks.
Karyn

Ham Radio Saves Lives!

At approximately 12PM Arizona Mountain Standard Time an emergency call came
across the 146.840 AATV Shaw Butte Repeater, at this time myself James KB7TBT
and Sean KE7CDE were having a conversation. The emergency call was from our Good
Friend KE7JDO, she stated that a man had broken into her house and was holding
her roommate at knife point, the man had taken her cell phone but she convinced
the man she needed something out of her car, this is when she grabbed her HT.

I dialed 911 and had the police respond, after an hour of negotiation the
attacker was apprehended and her roommate was released without any incident.

Thanks to ham radio 2 lives were saved today.

Not sure what happened to Thane. I last talked to him in '94 or '95.

He was the 2nd Sysop of Zephyr...Dave Scott ran Zephyr first,
originally "The Evening Zephyr" running on an extremely modified
version of RBBS. Then Thane Smith took it over, and wrote Passkey
Professional, which had to be some of the best BBS software ever
made...and then he gave Zephyr to me and sold the rights to Passkey to
James Staggs, who currently works at an ISP in Casa Grande.

It was The Generic BBS/SWITCHBAUD - you chose at login, or you could
log in to Generic, read messages, then jump to SWITCHBAUD after BBS'ing
for a moment.

Indeed. I think it is 23 years. Did I mention anything about hitting
on Jayne?

You hit on Jayne if you want.  I'm sure she'll sort you out (;
