We received this e-mail at work from our IT guys, so I figured it's legit. And
with the holidays so close I know we are all getting e-cards, so I'm sending
this to everyone on my e-mail list.

Subject: Holiday E-Mail Scams
Hello,
It is that time of the year again folks and we are starting to see a lot of
e-mail scams coming into the system. Recently there have been several inquiries
concerning e-cards that may come in your e-mail. TREND, the antivirus software
used by the County, can detect and handle the virus.
Thinking that someone just remembered you and sent you a Hallmark greeting card?
Think again, before you open the email attachment. Today, we received a spam
allegedly from Hallmark. Trend Micro detects this malware as automatically
fixes the problem.
Also, it has recently been reported that bogus e-mail from FedEx and UPS have
been coming in about packages or money that you may be receiving that are virus
related.
Another virus to be on the alert for involves a message telling you that your
virus software has detected a virus and needs to be updated. Do not click on
this as the virus software within Human Services is updated automatically and
there is no need for you to intervene.
As good practice you should not open an e-mail unless you know who the sender
is. Be careful of these scams at work as well as at home.

Hi,
I am an old time bbs sysop. Scott of Azureware.com and I are
sponsoring an old-time
telnet "Chat Party Tonight" on Sundays from 9:30pm to 9:30pm, Central
Daylight Time/USA.
You can find out the local time by using the /ver command once your in
chat.
Why so short? I want all the people to show up together. If it runs
longer than that or starts earlier that is fine!
The Chat server is configured for 1,000 connections so there is plenty
of room.
The server has dynamic chatroom/channel creation so groups can easily
segment into
smaller, more manageable areas.
Direct Telnet:chat.ChatNFiles.com
The ChatNFiles bbs's web address is: http://www.ChatNFiles.com with
800,000+ downloads.
Please drop by.

Hi,
I am an old time bbs sysop. I am trying to arrange for a Chat Party
on Sundays from
about 9pm to 9:30pm CDT/USA (-5 GMT). Why so short? I want all the
people to show up together. If it runs longer than that or starts
earlier that is fine!
The Chat server is configured for 1,000 connections so there is plenty
of room.
The server has dynamic chatroom/channel creation so groups can easily
segment into
smaller, more manageable areas.
Direct Telnet:chat.ChatNFiles.com The ChatNFiles bbs's web address
is: http://www.ChatNFiles.com with 800,000+ downloads.
Please drop by.

This is a canned message I have been posting where ever it seemed
appropriate. I have also learned that another group here at Yahoo and
you have mutual interests, search: "bbsrevival" without the quotes.
And join it.

Hi,
I found you on the internet as being interested in bbs's and file
downloads. I am an old-time bbs sysop who still has an interest in
bbs's. Here are some websites that might be useful.
http://www.telnetbbsguide.com This is apparently the only bbs listing
still being maintained and updated. It includes a dialup listing for
North American bbs's as well as the telnet listing. Earlier today it
had 400 bbs's listed.
http://www.bbsmates.com If you were ever on a bbs you might find it,
its sysop and former users here.
http://www.bbsfinder.com This site lists telnetable bbs's and if they
were online as of 5 minutes ago.
And you can check the newsgroup: alt.bbs.ads for additional advertising.
Hopefully this was helpful.

Luke: A certain point of view?
Obi-Wan: Luke, you will find that many of the truths we cling to, depend
greatly on our point of view.

Hi, all you animal lovers. This is pretty simple. Please tell ten (or more)
friends to tell ten today! The Animal Rescue Site is having trouble getting
enough people to click on it daily to meet their quota of getting free food
donated every day to abused and neglected animals. It takes less than a minute
to go to their site and click on "feed an animal in need" for free. It's in a
purple box in the middle of the page. This doesn't cost you a thing. Their
corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate food to
abandoned/neglected animals in exchange for advertising.
Here's the web site! Pass it along to people you know.
