Not true. DASO page:

http://www.cfa.harvard.edu/iau/SpaceJunk/SpaceJunk.html

will happily return ephemerides for LCROSS at 1-min intervals
for a specified topocentric location in fewer steps.

Astrometrica loads the MPCORB.dat file with the heliocentric orbits of minor planets, it also handles COMET.dat with the cometary orbits, as far as I know...
