Hi Attilla and all the astro-weather yahoo group.

You will find two new files under "files" section... transparency 1
and transparency test. The transparency 1 are the regular transparency
forecast used by Atttilla for the CSC. The test one includes the same
forecast time period but with the addition of a new smog forecast.
These are the first outputs of this new forecast and I am quite happy
about the results. The big problem though, I can't verified the
forecast and I need some help.

Compare a few images like the 24-27-30 hour progs from each files
which are valid for tonigth, ie June 24th 00,03,06 UTC. You will see
huge difference over eastern U.S. regions where operational forecast
has 3-4/4 and test transparency forecast have 2/4 over a huge area. I
thing it is reasonable with such a dominant ridge line to get thick
smog reducing the transparency... but I wish to get a few reports from
you out there.

The test forecast is not available yet on my web site. I use CMC
"CHRONOS" pollution model outputs for this new forecast. As soon I
will be satisfied, I will give access to this new transparency-smog
forecast.
I will try to have this forecast running operationnaly in the
beginning of July to evaluate the usefullness of this new version
during the summer.
The only problem, CHRONOS runs only once a day with 00 UTC data. This
new forecast will be available once a day.

Enjoy... and I am waiting for a few feedback south of the border.. if
any of you observed the sky the night of 23-24th of June!
