GFS data coordinates query

Hello All,

I have a query on GFS data coordinates.

In a GFS INFO file it states that :-

Longitude: 0.00000000000°E to 359.50000000000°E (720 points, avg.
res. 0.5°)

Now I read that quite literally to mean that the first cell of data run d
from 0.00 to 0.5, and the last cell from 359.5 to 360.0,
where the lat/lon points represent the lower left corner of a 0.5 degree
square box.

A colleague insists most vehemently that each lat/lon coordinate represents
the centre of the 0.5 degree square box,
such that it is plotted from 0.25 to 0.75 degrees., following the example
above for the first longitude cell.

I can't find anything on the NCEP site to say how to interpret the lat/lon
and resolution.

Does anyone know? Can anyone point to a document that might settle the
"friendly debate"?

TIA,

Andrew Cool

Ah yes, I was only using "clear Sky Clock" to describe the sort of thing I was interested in doing, rather than wishing to infringe on someone's copyright......
