Dec 1:   The Moon is just 40’ from the centre of the Pleiades at 7:10pm.
Dec 7:Â Â The Moon stands 5 degrees south of Mars on eastern sky at 2:15am.
Dec 8: Â Â The Moon stands 4.5 degrees south of Regulus on eastern sky at
3:15am.
Dec 9:Â Â Â Last Quarter Moon.
Dec 10: The Moon stands about 7.5 degrees SW of Saturn at 4:20am on east.
Dec 12: The Moon stands 5.5 degrees SE of Spica at 5:30am.

Dec 14: Geminids Meteor Shower will peak after midnight. Predicted Maximum:
December 14, ~5:00 UT (=Dec. 13, 9pm PST; =Dec. 14, 12am EST).

Dec 16: New Moon.
Dec 16: Jupiter will be just 7’from the 6th magnitude star 45 Capricorni.
Dec 18: A very thin crescent Moon will be just 2 degrees NE of Mercury. The pair
will be very low in the western sky just after sunset. Try with binoculars.
Dec 19: Mercury Greatest Eastern Elongation. Find it very low in west just after
sunset.
Dec 21: The Moon is at 3.5 degrees North of Jupiter and 3 degrees North of
Neptune. Jupiter and Neptune will be just 0.5 degree apart!
Dec 24: Pluto Conjunction.
Dec 24: First Quarter Moon.
Dec 26: Saturn Western Quadrature.
Dec 29: The Moon is about 3 degrees W-SW of Pleiades at 3:00am in the western
sky.
