Hey everyone -
There is a beta version of SoundMan-Designer now posted. This is an installer
that puts the three components of SoundMan-Designer on your system:
SoundMan-Designer (which is essentially a repackaged ABEdit)
SoundMan-Assistant (which is a repackaged SoundMan-AB and there is already an
updated version of this with one bug fixed, but the installer won't be updated
for a while....)
SoundMan-Server (beta version which expires in August)
It can be downloaded here: http://www.richmondsounddesign.com/demos/SM-DV001.EXE
Please report back any difficulties and bugs you have with this and we will fix
them. Also, we have not made a final decision about how these three programs
will ultimately interact. I want everything to open and close simultaneously
and be configurable through a single user interface but others may have
different opinions on this.
Please keep in mind that this is inteded to be a straightforward and
easy-to-understand replacement for the older AudioBox models and not a brand new
concept or extensible program that will become anything more than what the older
AudioBox models were.
The one question that came up recently which we are considering seriously is
whether or not we will increase the number of live inputs to 16 simply because
'most' 16 channel ASIO audio interfaces have the same number of inputs as
outputs - or do they? ;-) This could end up being a rat's nest we don't want to
get into, however....
Anyway, once we settle on the basic interface for SM-D, I will create a manual
for the software but not until then....
Cheers!!
Charlie
