AudioBox trade in program extended....   Message List

Again, thanks to everyone who traded in their model AB1616 AudioBoxes so far!
We got a few requests from users of the older 1616HD models to extend this
offer to that model as well, since there are so many out there that are still
working fine but simply have SCSI connection difficulties. This is invariably
because the new OSes (such as the latest update of XP) no longer properly
support SCSI and there is difficulty getting SCSI interfaces with correctly
functioning and up to date drivers.

This has been a perennial problem for several years now and, although we are
not responsible for this inadequacy we do understand everyone's concern,
especially when everything is working correctly other than this seemingly
simple interconnection difficulty. So, for a limited time only, and at our
exclusive discretion of course, we are extending this offer to the older model
1616HD AudioBox as well.

So here's the deal:

If you have an AB1616 or a 1616HD you can send it to us and get a full size
SoundMan-Designer dongle in exchange, which will run your AudioBox shows
exactly as they were originally intended - plus there are additional
capabilities and features that take well it beyond what the AB was originally
intended to do. The catch is that you have to ship it at your cost to our
newly expanded facility at Richard Ingraham's new house in Cleveland, Ohio, but
this can be done via the lowest cost method of course.

We can also provide you with a temporary license file so your shows will not be
interrupted in any way. The catch is that you may have to get a new audio
interface with ASIO drivers, but since many people are getting these to work
with SFX 6.0 now, this may not be a significant burden.

Again I should mention that we provide developer dongles gratis to any third
party developer who wants to work with SoundMan-Server and develop client
applications for this amazing new audio engine.

Finally, if you want to teach SoundMan-Designer in your sound lab at an
accredited school of any type, we will be pleased to provide you with a
commensurate number of licences gratis.

Please contact me off list for further details and thanks always for the
bandwidth!

Sincerely,
Charlie
