I am interested if anyine has configured a long distance trunk group to
use the incoming Tone )DTMF) ANI feature. My carrier states that they
are transmitting inbound information in the *ani*dnis* format however
when I configure my trunk group to this configuration, calls are no
longer able to land on the trunk group, calls receive a fast busy.
I am attempting to capture the inbound ANI of a call and use a vector
routing table to send calls to the proper group. I have been successful
in getting this to work for an ISDN trunk group but not a long distance
tie group.

Hi All, I wonder if someone can assist me. We have an AVP that is
connected via h.323 to the CM. Everything works fine except the blind
transfer. Whenever i do a transfer the ACD keeps hold of the port and
my port in AVP stays in Alerting state. How do i get the ACD to release
this port and complete the blinde transfer? When i do a trace, this is
what i get: "denial event 1746: Conf/xfer a Vector call D1=0x8a83
D2=0x287f" Please help
This presentation is part of the SIP-VoIP Essentials online course
available from NACSE at http://www.nacse.com or the version for
Channel Partners called NVBE or also onsite. Please email Tom Cross
cross@... for more details on all delivery and customizing
options.
This is an introduction to SIP Trunking and connections for
telephones and discussion of SIP telephony network with respect to
the PSTN-Public Switched Telephone Network via SS7-Signaling System
7. This tutorial will present the various SS7 protocols used in PSTN
signaling from a SIP phone. Later, other call processing scenarios
will be presented. The following are the steps in the SIP signaling
process to complete a call via the PSTN-Public Switched Telephone
Network. There are others but this is a start. First, the SIP
device sends an INVITE.
The GMC-Gateway Media Controller converts IP-Internet Protocol
packets to CAS-Channel Associated Signaling TDM-Time Division
Multiplexed channels signaling and media transmission with the PSTN.
A Q.931-SS7-ISUP-ISDN-Integrated Services Digital Network User Part
IAM-Initial Address Message is sent with the Routing label, CIC-
Circuit Identification Code and Message Type Code. Examples of
Message Type Codes include: Called Number, Calling Number, DPC-
Destination Point Code, OPC-Origination Point Code. As the IAM
passes through switching centers circuits (shown in green) are
reserved.
Once the IAM-Initial Address Message is processed at the DPC-
Destination Point Code (switch), an SS7-ISUP ACM-Address Complete
Message is sent to the OPC-Origination Point Code (switch). The ACM
is used also used to indicate the start of billing.
Upon off-hook connect, the reserved trunks are activated and an ANM-
ANswer Message completes the call setup/connect and communication
(conversation) begins.
RTP-Realtime Transport Protocol or SRTC-Secure RTP (encrypted media)
is the Session Layer protocol used for the voice transmission with
UDP-User Datagram Protocol and then IP for transmission.
During the call, various Call Progress messages such as CPG-Call
ProGress Message, COT-COTinuity Message, SUS-SUSpend Message, RES-
RESume Message, FOT-FOrward message Transfer, INR-INformation Request
message, INF-INFormation Message and others may be sent.
Upon RELease or disconnect (on-hook), a series of SS7-ISUP messages
are sent to teardown (release) the trunks, terminate billing, and
provide network management and testing for the next call.
Don't know what type of system but on my G3si I believe it would be the
setting on the station to auto select idle appearance.

I think you need to enter "dac" next to number 9 in the ars table. You
access ars table by typing "change ars analysis 1". By doing that,a
trunk is seized, and you then dial the external number.

I'm stumped. I want to place a call from within Outlook Contacts
using
the native dialer on our 2420/4620 telephones. I get the following
message. "One of the components of the telephoney device drive is
missing, use Windows Control Panel to set up the driver properly."
We have an S8700, IP Connect backend and are a full Microsoft shop.
Interestingly, our current configuration works when we use IP
Softphone. We can place a call from our contacts (right-click and
select "place a call"). Also from within Office Communicator 2005
(we've done the integration to Avaya) we're able to place a call to
a contract listed in Outlook by typing the name in the "Find" field.
Suggestions? Is it as simple as Avaya having a driver which allows
this functionality to work from my computer and deskphone? I
understand I'm looking for something (a program, or a driver)to do
the
translation from Microsoft's TAPI to Avaya's TCAPI.
Thanks much.

Hello friends,
I use AVAYA IP OFFICE 406, to connect my office,
I want to develope third party application for the IP office 406,
which will handle the my calls.
Is there any simulator or programming tool for the IP office 406?
i am confused, when i search on the net for th simulator, i get the
only results of IP office 3.1 .
Is this software is used for the programming development?
If any body knows Please help me..
Thanks in Advance..
Bye,
Thanks,
Mahadeo.
I know there were/are some one-way talk path issues with older MEDPRO
firmware on Communication Manager 2.X and older that could be avoided by
turning off ip-ip direct (and possibly hairpinning) for the associated
network regions.
Call or reply if you have any questions.
Thanks

Subject: [Avaya_Forum] VoIP line Hold Issue
Has anyone seen this?
I have 6 sites in an MPLS routed configuration and ONLY when we call
between sites internally and one end puts the call on HOLD or PARK and
they pick it back up, they can't hear the other end; however, the
called party can hear everything fine.
This is being consistent accross the board?? Any suggestions?

I have a Avaya Definity PBX with a Cajun P580 core swith, using the
Avaya 46 series IP phones. I am getting errors on certain IP phones
that say "error" registering # to reset.
1- I know the phone is getting an IP address from the DHCP server.
2- It kind of floats around the 100+ extensions I have.
3- 3 or 4 extensions are effected weekly.
4- I have changed phone hardware and keep experiencing same problem.
5- We have recently replaced blades 1&4 in the Cajun P580.
Any help you can give me would be appreciated. Thanks

Can we get rid of the guy that keeps dumping spam on this site. I had
to turn off email access because I was tired of receiving the stupid
spam that this jerk is sending. We should police this site and keep
these idiots off of here. I thought this was a PBX support site.

You can - you don't press the button on the XM24 - it shows up on another screen
on the 4620. Good luck.
