Hello Rise for Freedom Community Advisory Committee members:
The Cincinnati Opera Guild is planning a trip to Ripley, Ohio on Sunday, September 30 and is inviting you to participate.
This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about the people portrayed in the new family opera Rise for Freedom: The John P. Parker Story which is set to premiere on October 13, 2007 at the Jarson-Kaplan Theater in the Aronoff Center for the Arts.
This trip also coincides with the Opera Rap presentation Portraying Local Heroes: Meet the Cast. The cast of Rise for Freedom will be present as will director Sheila Ramsey and librettist David Gonzalez.
The historical points of interest in Ripley are the Rankin House, the Parker House and the Presbyterian church.
