Hello All,
This is my first post but may help others having difficulty with Improvisor.
For windows XP users.
To find out what version of JAVA you have.
Using window CONTROL PANEL click START then "Control panel" in menu On the
Control panel screen, if you have Java you will find a JAVA CUP symbol.
Double click on the CUP symbol and the JAVA control panel will pop up.
Click the "about" button and the panel will say "JAVA 2" but underneath it
will say "version 1.5.0" or similar . This is the JAVA VERSION 1.5 Cancel
this panel.
To run the java application with windows you can try the ".bat" file as
directed. ( it may not work - it did not work on my XP machine)
Or go to the folder the that has the file improvisor.jar and double click on
this. After a delay the Improvior screen will appear.

Bruno,
There is a link on the Impro-Visor web page that tells you how to get Java
1.5 for your platform.
http://www.cs.hmc.edu/~keller/jazz/improvisor/aboutJava.html
The Java numbering system is a bit confounded. When they say "Java 2", they
really mean Java 1.2. Java 1.5 is actually the latest, I believe (and it
sometimes referred to as "Java 5").
Thanks.
