Dear Danielle,
Check the security settings of IIS6 to allow the running of .ASP pages
on your site (localhost (127.0.0.1)) and that index.asp and Index.asp is
included in the files to run. Allow the security to drop to low initially
to determine if its a Security Issue.
Do you receive the IIS6 Home page when you click Browse on the IIS main
file (which then displays the Under Construction Page.) in the IIS explorer
window.
Is the actual webserver running? Have you checked in the services.msc
for any authentication services which have been disabled from starting up.
What OS are you using? WinXPPro comes with IIS5, Servers come with IIS6.
Have you added the .NET framework v2.0 Is your PC completely up-to-date with
all OS updates?
If you can let me know more I maybe able to help further.
Paul.

Subject: [BKWeb_UltraDev] ASP pages no longer work
I have a series of pages that I created in UltraDev 4 that have been
working just fine for some time. Now they no longer work. The pages
haven't been changed; the only thing that changed was a
re-install
and upgrade of IIS to version 6.0. I am not a network person but did
some research about making sure ASP extensions can run. They are
allowed both ASP and ASPX. But the pages still will not appear or
populate. My main page will appear with when an x was added to asp.
I just don't understand why this is happening. Any information
or
help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

Hi Magda,
To change the state of a nav-bar button with fireworks, here's the
details:
Firstly depending on the Navigation Bar it could have upto 4-States per
button these being, Roll-Over,On-Click,Rollover while clicked and Down. Each
of these button 'instances' when exported will be held in the images\images
folder and will be in the following format: Button1_r1_c1_f4.gif/jpg.
The last part of the filename (_f4) is the image used to depict the button
being pressed. So from the one nav-bar which is the same on all pages in
order to change the 'State' of that button just edit the filename to include
the _f4, the image will be changed to the 'Down-State' as though someone has
clicked on that link.
I hope this has helped,
Paul Stanley - paul@...

Hi Magda,
This really all depends on which mailing components are available to you on
your server, and which database/programming language you are using. If you
would like to see all of the components available to you on your server,
copy and paste the following code into an ASP page, upload it to your server
and run the code by opening the page.
<% @ Language="VBScript" %>
<% Option Explicit %>
<%
Dim theComponents(18)
theComponents(0) = Array("ABMailer.Mailman", "ABMailer v2.2+")

Sorry for the messy code, it was copy and pasted from a website. For the
original, see
http://www.aspit.net/code/miscellaneous/check_installed_email_components.asp
Once you know which component you will use, you will want to create the
additional code needed to add a new record to the database. In the following
example, assume that there is a form on the page with two fields, "Name" and
"Email":
<% @ Language="VBScript" %>
<% Option Explicit %>
<%
'Check if form has been submitted
If Request("Submit") <> "" Then
'Pass form values into variables
Dim varFormName
Dim varFormEmail
'Retrieve form values
varFormName = CStr(Request("Name"))
varFormEmail = CStr(Request("Email"))
'Trim extra spaces
varFormName = Trim(varFormName)
varFormEmail = Trim(varFormEmail)
'start INSERT command
'You can either use a hand-coded INSERT here,
'or use the built in Macromedia INSERT behavior.
'If using the built in behavior, ensure that you
'enter the following code BEFORE the redirect line
'but AFTER the INSERT command executes.
'end INSERT command
'start email script
'NOTE: the code that goes here is dependant on which component you
use
'simply pass varFormName and varFormEmail into the email message
'end email script
'If you used the built in Macromedia INSERT behavior,
'then place the Response.Redirect line here. Otherwise
'you can place your own Response.Redirect here.
Response.Redirect("redirectpage.asp")
End If 'If Request("Submit") <> "" Then
%>
Just a simple way to do it - it may/may not work for you, but I use it
without any problems at all.

I have found that Libraries and Templates are unpredictable piles of
garbage. At one time I used both extensively, but after experiencing
problems similar to yours; I just gave up on them. I now use the
Find/Replace command to change links site wide.
Simply select the files in the site that will have their links changed, open
the Find/Replace dialogue box, copy and paste the old link into the top box
and enter the new link into the bottom one. In the "Find In" box, have
"Selected Files in Site" selected, and in the "Search In" box, have "Source
Code" selected. Then click on the "Replace All" button.
NOTE: You may want to make a backup copy of your site before you try this
for your first time because as you are told when pressing the "Replace All"
button, you can't undo this action...
Overall, I have total control over my site with the Find/Replace function.

Subject: [BKWeb_UltraDev] Libraries
Why does changing a link in a library not work for me? I've been using
libraries for a couple of years and just decided to change a link
in one. When I put the new library to the server, the pages that use it
still go to the old link. How is this possible if the old library
is gone?
All the pages were updated and I tried loading some of the pages along with
reloading the library again, but the newly loaded pages still
use the old link. I did find a reference to this problem on the internet,
but I have trouble believing there is no way to fix this, as
the reference suggests.
Any experience out there?

Why does changing a link in a library not work for me? I've been using libraries
for a couple of years and just decided to change a link
in one. When I put the new library to the server, the pages that use it still go
to the old link. How is this possible if the old library
is gone?
All the pages were updated and I tried loading some of the pages along with
reloading the library again, but the newly loaded pages still
use the old link. I did find a reference to this problem on the internet, but I
have trouble believing there is no way to fix this, as
the reference suggests.
Any experience out there?

OOPS! I messed up on the HTML - here it is again:
<div id="divwrapper">
<div id="div01">Test1 Test1 test1 test1 Test1 Test1 test1
test1</div>
<div id="div02">Test2 Test2 test2 test2 Test2 Test2 test2
test2</div>
</div>

Hi Magda,
The simplest way to do this (which is also cross-browser compatible and CSS
compliant) is to use a wrapper div with "margin:0 auto" and the
"text-align:center" tag.
Here is an example:
body{
padding:0;
margin:0;
background-color:#000000;
text-align:center; /* hack to center page contents in IE browsers */
}
#divwrapper {/* nest all other layout divs within this one */
position:relative;
top:0px;
left:0px;
margin:0 auto;
width:80%;
text-align:left;
height:auto;
}
#div01{/* Example div within the wrapper */
position:absolute;
top:50px;
left:10%;
height:auto;
width:40%;
background-color:#EAECD3;
z-index:1;
}
#div02{/* Example div2 within the wrapper */
position:absolute;
top:250px;
left:50%;
height:auto;
width:30%;
background-color:#FFFFFF;
z-index:2;
}
Then, in your HTML use:
<div id="divwrapper">
<div id="div01">Test1 Test1 test1 test1 Test1 Test1 test1
test1</div>
<div id="div01">Test2 Test2 test2 test2 Test2 Test2 test2 test2
</div>
</div>
Hope this helps!

Magda,
There are numerous ways to achieve this. The easiest
and quickest method is to follow below:
Its a two stage process:
1. Create a Record Insert Page.
2. Create a Field Capture page. This will pull the
information from either session variables or if you
wanted direct from the Database and then use your
email program (formmail) to send the details using a
detail confirmation page. When they click that the
details are ok, the form is then sent.
It all depends on the database you are using, the
format of the website pages (PHP,ASP,CF,etc).
I hope this helps.
Paul Stanley.

Paul,
Thanks for the help; I really appreciate you taking the time to
respond. Unfortunately it did not work and I still get the same
results. Are there any resources online or off that you could suggest
that might be able to help me?
Thanks again,
Sylvester

I've been using Dreamweaver for about a year now and just recently
I've had a problem crop up. Within the last 6 weeks, everytime I put
a file to the remote server it is changing the file name and
extension to all Caps. If there is a pic related it will also change
the hyperlinks file folder to all Caps as well. This leaves me
having to stop and rename every file I put on the server. I can't
figure out what's changed. I am virus free and have even reinstalled
dreamweaver to no avail. This is so frustrating! Any suggestions?
Dear Sylvester,
For your results page to move further based upon a
users 'click selection' use the Goto Detail page and
pass the unique ID of the selection to the next page,
where you will request the variable passed from the
search page and have a recordset filtered by that
variable.
Hope it helps.
Paul Stanley.
