BRCNET aims to provide a forum for exchange of news and information about the operation of recording schemes for the fauna and flora of Britain and Ireland. The group will be used to keep scheme organisers abreast of developments at the Biological Records Centre, particularly in relation to the National Biodiversity Network. The list will benefit members through exchange of ideas and experience relevant to all aspects of recording schemes.

Recording schemes are organised in diverse ways. The smallest recording schemes are often entirely organised by a single scheme organiser. For larger schemes or societies, it becomes necessary to divide the workload. This is done in different ways by different recording schemes. It is hoped that all schemes, large and small, can benefit from this discussion group.
