went to Emigrant Gap today for a drive through. On my way in I decided to have
lunch at that first little campground you come to, just before the first small
creek you cross. Notice yellow stuff all around near the side of the road. Went
to check it out and found butter boletes evrywhere!! the deer had been tearing
them up. Got eight real nice fresh ones though. Put most of them in the dryer,
was like slicing raw potatoes. Nice nutty flavor. Decided to drive on for one
last look at the burn where the drainage is. The creek was drying up but did
find seven morels, all new growth. one baseball size the others 2-3" tall. Going
to Donner and Soda Springs this weekend, hope my luck holds out!!!
