Yes, you want it in repulsion mode so it's pushing. I'm not experienced enough
yet to advise you about big coils. I'll be doing my own experiments with those
later.

I've followed the dimensions of the coil and magnets as specified, but I've
noticed that many others setups, including john's usually have the width of the
coil matched to the width of the magnet.
I'd imagine that this would increase the efficiency of the effect on the wheel
if the the coild width and electromagnet width are closer.
another question,
I dont have an oscilloscope, and i cant quite figure out if the electromagnet is
supposed to be oscilating and pulling the mags on the wheel closer, or pushing
them away. but if i could hazard a guess i would say the electromagnet is using
the north poles faceing out on the magnets to "push" the wheel around, and the
scalar south poles in between for the trigger. am i right?
