Dear Collegues..

I was just thinking whether high price also mean sustaianble future. What i mean by sustaiable means..our highlanders stop doing what they used to do, with lucrative business with cordyceps people may head elsewhere to set up business. If that happens, our highland will be empty.. no more yaks.. no more mountainous life.

To sustain the mountainous life we should do more, then just collection and selling.

 

May be the community should be organise for tour operations by themsleves.. setting up community base infrastructure.. so that aprt from Cordyceps..they have other dignified life on the greater himalayas.

Although they may be getting benefit in piece meals at present with tourism..they dont have much to say.

 

It is just my thought..may be things are happening already.
