Dear Friends,

Bhutan-eForest is 7 years old today. It was born on 7 December 2000.

We have over this 7 year period exchanged over 1038 postings
touching on all aspects of forest and forest related issues. It is
still going on strong.

As the host and moderator, it is such a joyous occassion for me
today, and I am sneaking time from the middle of meeting people to
greet all of you esteemed members of the Group who have made this
Group an enduring one.

As you know the vision for the Group is Forest for Gross National
Happiness.

It is my conviction, and yours that our forests have a great role in
the realization and strengthening of the Gross National Happiness
concept in the country.

As professionals, this responsibility falls largely upon us. We must
therefore demonstrate our will and competence that we are relevant
and we can be a service to our King, Country and People.

Thanks to the Internet technology, group email such as our Group is
such a fascinating thing that with least effort we can stay
connected to each other, and share with each other our professional
experiences, and also seek support from each other.

It is as simple as writing your thought in the comfort of your home
or office and sending it at the email address Bhutan-
eForest@yahoogroups.com, where with one posting you send the message
to all the 200 members of the Group.

I am in the meantime outside forestry world, but I would urge all
esteemed members to keep this Group going. It is a forum to share
your thoughts and keep connected with professionals of your
discipline.

Once again, I wish all members the 7th Anniversary of the Bhutan-
eForest.
