Dear Tashi
As you know, the concept and methodology
for establishing community forestry is well developed in
- Comparative analysis of community forestry vs. forest management units in terms of economic, social and environmental costs and benefits
- Assessment of the potentials and constraints on replacing the rural timber and firewood supply with wood from community forest areas.
- Means to optimize the integration of community forestry in strategic land-use planning at geog and dzongkhag level
- Identification of emerging technical and administrative problems in managing forest user groups.
- Institutional, legislative and administrative means of preventing exclusion, elite capture and corruption in forest user group.
- Assessment of the needs for capacity building at province and district level to meet the technical and administrative requirements for community forestry formation, monitoring and extension.
I think each of these topics would be very
interesting and could fill gaps in the current knowledge, particularly if based
on real information from local level.
Cheers
Peter

Dear Mr. Peter,
Thanks for the response. I understand your views. I would like to request you to narrow down your focus towards the community forestry related issues. I am planning to draft a research proposal on "Framework on Analysing Governance for Community Forests in Bhutan".
Thanks
Tashi
