Reminder: Draft National Forest Policy for comments

Dear All,

This is a reminder on the above subject. We have not
received any comments till date. If you have compiled or
furnished some, please send them at the earliest possible.

Peter, thank you for the general remarks. I shall take
your point to the next core group meeting, where experts
will try to link it to the overall cross-sectoral goals.
However, the new Policy in itself is a paradigm shift from
forest as a revenue generating resource to people
centred/multiple use forestry. Yes, in the long run it
does carry implications as mentioned in your comments; but
at this juncture there is a critical need to revise the
old policy to adapt to the changing phase of forestry.
Please share your further valuable comments on the
document.

Please drop your comments via e-mail or personally at FRDD
to the undersigned.

Sincerely,

Ngawang Gyeltshen, FRDD
