I think Disabled People had better get it straight.--If you're in good enough shape to rock, you had better do more than pacifist, peaceful demonstrations outside the Whitehouse.
Nice, sweet, peaceful Sunday go-to-church style of demonstrations get nobody anywhere. In 1998 I went to add to the numbers for a demonstration in my city. Quebec Separatists, with their mad-bomber Raymond Villeneuve were there to throw their weight around, when Anglophones were going to demonstrate against the Eaton's department store chain from being changed to French only.
It didn't seem like many people were going to turn up, and I decided to at least add to the number. After awhile, a fair number of people and security arrived, police and media.
As the demonstration got underway, Separatists were throwing stuff at demonstrators, and in those days I was in pretty good shape, and didn't mind having a showdown with Villeneuve, myself. An old lady called out to me to stay by security to be safe, and I yelled back that "this isn't some Sunday go-to-church parade, lady!--This is a demonstration.--And in demonstrations, people get hurt. Anybody who wants to be safe, should have stayed home"!
So, I charged ahead, and wanted to get into a position where I could take a swing at Raymond Villeneuve, when I was going by. But, when I went to go down the other side when the demonstration was turning, police fenced me out.
It had nothing to do with Disability Rights, but I'm just explaining that in the past I've been in demonstrations in different cities. At demonstrations, it's important to respect police.--But at the same time, you need to rumble enough to get some public support.
I'm not in shape to travel any more, or I would have been involved in alot of events down there.
Since Terri Schiavo's uncivilized 13 day Easter symbolic ritualistic torture and execution in 2005, thousands of people have been tortured to death. They aren't sick! They aren't temrinally ill! They're just disabled, like Terri was.
This attitude that the Dark-Ages World Order is going to single out Disabled People for a disability-cleansing campaign, is a declaration of war against "vulnerable people"! This includes people with disabilities, whether physical or mental. It includes senior citizens, and it includes homelss people. It's time for real demonstrations, and to get disabled soldiers back from Iraq on our side.
One thing I will say, is if people in Not Dead Yet and ADAPT don't agree and get bigger numbers out there, both Disabled People, disabled war veterans and homeless people to demonstrate, the Dark-Ages World Orlder are going to wipe everybody out.
