I guess I am worried about participation levels to date. How many people will really be interested in going and, more importantly, how many people would contribute/lead?
Actually,
I think there’s been an amazing amount of involvement especially
considering the holidays. For the past two Code Camps I’ve been involved
with in Seattle and Portland, we only had a couple of people involved this
early and hadn’t publicized until about a month later. Having a venue
nailed down with two months to go, that’s great news.
Also
consider for the last two Code Camps I had to do a lot of the legwork myself,
including the web site and securing the venue (which I had to pay $$$ for in
Portland)… Boise has been coming together great and I’ve been on
vacation the whole time! :)
I
think Boise Code Camp is coming along awesome so far, but we should all chip in
to keep the momentum going and start soliciting presenters for sessions. Now’s
the time to get people to chair tracks; I think Martin Danner’s the only
one who has volunteered so far (for Methodology/Architecture). Build the buzz
with blog posts, word of mouth… I’ve already seen several people
post it online, which is great. Keep it up!

March 11

Anyone care to nominate an additional date, or shall we begin voting?

OK, when I punched the
physical address for the classroom into ClearWire's coverage finder it said
they were not covered. I looked at their map again and there is a little
jog that may exclude the University
of Phoenix campus.
So it looks like they probably don't provide coverage there.
Unless someone has a compelling reason not to use University of Phoenix
or another great venue shows up tomorrow then I say we stick with them.
It is a really great venue and I would rather get things start moving forward.
That would be cool with ClearWire (http://www.clearwire.com/). I checked their coverage map (
https://orders.clearwire.com/) and it looks like the University of Phoenix
campus is covered. Kelly seemed to think we could just put a wireless router on
the existing connection using his user ID. Whatever works is fine by
me. Frankly if ClearWire wants to come in and set it all up and manage
it, all in exchange for publicity then I would be happy to have one less thing
to worry about.
Sounds like you found a good spot. As far as wireless goes we
could also hit up Clear Wire if we need a public hot spot. I am betting
they would love to provide a hot spot in exchange for a banner indicating
they were the provider. They are totally wireless broadband. I have
seen it and it works great. Only takes their modem and an Access Point to
have a mobile hot spot anywhere in Boise.
If it helps you can tell them I am an alumni, because, well, I am.

Thaks for keeping tabs on this. I
don't know why I could ask about venues so I don't have any leads
there. I was hoping to go to the Seattle Code camp and maybe even present
but I can't afford the airline tickets this close to the show.

Washington Group is most likely available, but a
larger venue would be better.

What about Executrain? They have a lot of
