Hi Matt
I have the Puss Moth seperated in a container on its own to see what appears
from this. I can only assume its one of the parasites that lays its eggs on
leaves and hopes a caterpillar will eat them. The cats all come from a Puss
Moth found crushed on a pavement and have been in secure containers since
they were ova so nothing can have got at them directly, so I assume the
parasite has come in via food.
I always try and rear through any parasites as they are interesting in their
own right. I will post updates on the state of health of the caterpillar and
parasites. At the moment the cat is resting after eating a tiny amount of
food overnight and the parasites are now a less vivid green.
