North Tipperary Mining   Message List

People,

The mines of north Tipperary are extensive, digging into some notably large
deposits
of metal ore of varying kinds. I'm curious to ascertain what date we can say
mining
of ores began in this area. Is there evidence of bronze age activity in this
area, or
are the deposits first used at a later date... medieval, or early modern?
