Subject: Vandalsim to rock artsite in Wisconsin
In mid May vandals spray painted over the petroglyphs and possibly one
pictograph at the rock art site located in Roche-A-Cri State Park,
Wisconsin. The paint is probably your
"average" spray paint. The surface containing the rock art is
Cambrian age sandstone that is varies in hardness, but in some areas
is
friable.
Obviously we would like to remove the paint without damaging the rock
art. We were wondering if anyone has experience with a similar
situation.
Thank you.
