Super 8 film to DVD (or digital) transfer followup   Message List

It took me forever to getting around to deciding which service to try first to
transfer ancient video from Super 8 film to a DVD or digital. But, it worked out
for the best since Costco announced the service a while back (2 months ago). So,
I remembered to take the first two tapes to Costco today to try out the service.
Couple of items.

1. You can transfer up to 2 tapes to 1 DVD as long as the total footage doesn't
go over 150 feet (tiny Super 8 reels are about 50 feet each)
2. The service includes splicing if necessary. I do not know if that is an extra
cost. The base cost is $20.
3. The transfer to video DVD includes two physical gold DVDs as a deliverable
4. It takes 3 to 4 weeks to get everything back but the person at Costco said he
has been seeing returns in about 2.5 weeks.

So, I should have something to report within the next 30 days.
