This is a user's group for the astrophotography cameras produced and/or sold by CCD Labs. It is run by and for owners of these cameras and other interested astrophotographers. Current cameras include the QHY-derived six megapixel Q8-HR large format CCD one-shot color camera and 1.3 megapixel Q285M medium-format mono camera along with several cameras from Imaging Source. Check the CCD Labs site (Products menu) for more info.
CCD-Labs is a small company based in Wichita, Kansas, and was conceived in 2006 with the idea of building high quality Astronomical/Science imaging systems that are cost effective. Like many small companies making astronomical equipment, it is run as a labor of love in its workers' spare time. User groups like this one help such companies flourish by providing information and support among those who own its products, allowing the company to focus on producing and improving them.
We'll post news from CCD-Labs and try to help them communicate with their customers and help their customers communicate with them. We want CCD-Labs to be successful. But our allegiance is to owners of CCD-Labs products and those who may be interested in owning them. By helping you share questions and knowledge with others, we'll help you get the most out of your equipment.
Join us in learning about and using what we feel are among the most cost-effective products in the astro-imaging arena. Welcome!
