I don't know whether this will work with all 700s, but on my Victoreen the hole
for the fairly useless headphone jack was perfect for a BNC. It looks as though
the BNC was made to be there. I drilled a small hole just above the embossed
PHONE label and installed a mini headphone jack, swapped out the headphone
connector, and it was done. I used a piece of the original probe cable to extend
from the board to the new jack location.

I've seen pictures of other 700s with a similar modification, so I suspect it
would work with other models as well. Might be worth a look before investing in
the tap and die set. . .

I found an American supplier for 3/8"-40  taps and dies that looks like they would work for making adding BNC's to CDV-700's easier and more professional...

The BNC threading is 3/8x32tpi, not 40. Phil N5TSX...

My Lionel 6B was modded that way, swapping the audio and probe leads, but the Vickie I want to add the BNC to would look cleaner if I simply changed the probe...
