I don't know whether this will work with all 700s, but on my Victoreen the hole for the fairly useless headphone jack was perfect for a BNC. It looks as though the BNC was made to be there. I drilled a small hole just above the embossed PHONE label and installed a mini headphone jack, swapped out the headphone connector, and it was done. I used a piece of the original probe cable to extend from the board to the new jack location.
I've seen pictures of other 700s with a similar modification, so I suspect it would work with other models as well. Might be worth a look before investing in the tap and die set. . .
