Saturday morning, and a happy 4th July to all our American readers. We have just had a big rainstorm which blew over as fast as it appeared, but what I found interesting is that within minutes of it ending, the flying insects are out in force again. I hope that this weather doesn't last, as the last few years I have felt so sorry for the schoolkids: they break up from school, and then it rained all the way through the summer holidays, until just after the autumn term started. "It might as well rain until September" I should coco...
