"GLOW TRAIN" -- come see a credible, well researched discussion of the possible scale and scope of a transport accident involving irradiated nuclear fuel. The (cable) History Channel has produced this 43 minute piece -- and thanks to iTunes we can see it without commercials! It features experts from the Department of Energy, the nuclear industry and the State of Nevada -- as well as officials who dealt with enormous rail disasters in recent years in Wisconsin, South Carolina and Maryland.

WHAT, WHERE and WHEN: 6:30 pm Monday July 14 -- Common Sense at the Nuclear Crossroads -- the meeting of a Western North Carolina Campaign focused on stopping potential massive increase in nuke transport in our communities -- CSNC will meet at its usual time and place in a downstairs classroom of the Unitarian Universalist Church -- corner of Charlotte and Edwin. For new comers, the door to enter is a ground level on the side of the building facing the church parking lot (Bond St)...it is the door closest to the child play area.

The meeting will convene at 6:30 pm -- to cover ongoing efforts to promote a new ordinance for Asheville (and any other jurisdiction) making transport of irradiated fuel and other high-level radioactive waste through the city a crime -- and other matters (SEE Expo, other agenda items welcome!)

We will show the episode of the program "Mega Disaster" called GLOW TRAIN at about 7 pm or a little after...
