Manually adding subscribers to the new CTamil list?

Dear CTamilists,

as you probably now know,
the CTamil list has moved to a new server
where I hope its future course should be more stable,
independant of Yahoo! 's future fate
and without the added benefit of constant advertising :-)

Its URL is now:
<http://www.services.cnrs.fr/wws/info/ctamil>

After sending the announcement about the new list,
I have received feedback from several subscribers,
some of whom asked to be added manually,
as it often appeared to them a little complicated
to register themselves.

In order to simplify the transition,
I have had a look at the list of 65 subscribers
to the (Yahoo!) CTamil list
(as it was on 2002 april 5th)
and could see that among these 65 subscribers:
21 had selected the "Individual Emails" option
5 had selected the "daily digest" option
37 had selected the "No Email" option
2 had selected the "Special Notices" option

I boldly made the assumption that those subscribers
who had selected the "Individual Emails" option
would not like to see a disruption
of the CTamil flow of messages,
and took the bold step
of manually adding to the new CTamil list
those of them who had not done it themselves.

If I misinterpreted their intention,
I apologize to them.

For the other members,
I made the assumption that they
preferred to make their own choice.

If they have difficulty joining the new list
in case they want to,
let them kindly contact me at
jlc@...

There remains the case
of those who had selected
the "Daily digest" option.

This option is available on the new server
but I believe they have to activate it themselves,
so that I think it is preferrable for me to wait
for their opinion.

In case anybody who has been manually added
wants to be removed,
they can do so by sending a message to the server
or by asking me to do so.

I will send the UNSUBSCRIBING INFORMATION
shortly to the new list.

Please kindly bear with me for any inconvenience

Yours with best wishes
