Hello to All.
I am a "newbie" to group.
Purchased scanner about last May and have scanned about 40 slides
only.We go away in camping car frequently so digital photography is
only one interest.
A PROBLEM I had was as follows.
One slide in a scan batch of four repeatedly got "dust scratch
remover failed".Rescanned at various OUTPUT dpis then INPUT dpis but
still got silvery frost like "blemishes" on the several test prints I
made.
Slide projected and also examined with loup and pronounced a good
sharp "normal" slide by self and more experienced workers.
Scanned with dust/scratch switched of. Perfectly good printable
print obtained!!
HOWEVER.....On examining the print and slide it was apparent that
about a quarter of the background of the print ...(in a narrow
shadowed street in Spain) contained a battlship gray painted steel
doorcovered in a maze of scratches and sqiggles of rust. Also the
rest of background was stone blocks with "cement" lines.
I can only assume this was all too much for the dust scratch remover>
Hope this may help the sum of knowledge.
Beautiful prints to you all
Ken. ( Will be asking for comment on film get soon as mine is
series 1.0 I think...and slow.)
